Czech Heritage Society Meeting

The Fayette County Czech Heritage Society meeting will be held Sunday, Sept. 29, at 2 p.m. at the TCHCC Hanslik Hall in La Grange. The guest speaker will be Polka News Editor, Gary McKee, who will speak on the origin of the Polka Mass. Members, please bring a snack to share. New potential members or guests are welcome.

La Grange KC BBQ Sunday

The La Grange Knights of Columbus Chromcik Council No. 2574 will hold its monthly BBQ on Sunday, Sept. 29 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Barbecue chicken and sausage will be available to-go, drivethru only, at the Knights of Columbus Community Center located at 190 Brown St. in La Grange. A slab of pork ribs will be $20, chicken $10, and sausage $7. Orders are guaranteed on call-ins by calling (979) 968-5117.

Muldoon Museum

The Muldoon Museum business meeting will be held Oct. 2 at 2 p.m. at the museum building. The museum will be open Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

There’s more The La Grange Knights of Columbus Chromcik Council No. 2574 will hold its annual turkey and dressing supper on Thursday, Oct. 3 at the Knights of Columbus Community Center located at 190 S. Brown St. in La Grange. The drive-thru only meal will consist of turkey and homemade dressing, noodles, broccoli with cheese sauce, cranberry sauce and a roll for $15 per plate. Enter on Water St. to Milam and exit will be on Brown St. Pick up will be held from 4-6 p.m. Call (979) 968-5117 in advance for orders over 10 plates.

Schulenburg Class of 1960 Reunion

The Schulenburg High School Class of 1960 will hold a reunion on Thursday, Oct. 3 at Robert’s Steakhouse in Flatonia from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Get on the attendance list so there will be a good head count to assist the restaurant. CVC & FEC Document Shred Day

Colorado Valley Communications and Fayette Electric Cooperative will host their seventh annual document shred day for members on Friday, Oct. 4 in conjunction with National Cooperative Month. The free document shredding will be available from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. at Fayette Electric Cooperative’s old headquarters location at 357 N. Washington St. in La Grange, and from 12:15-2:15 p.m. at Colorado Valley Communications located at 4915 South US Hwy. 77, La Grange. CASA Casino Night

The Hyatt Lost Pines Resort Saturday Night Lights and Casino Nights will be held Saturday, Oct. 5, 5:30-11 p.m. The premier annual fundraiser is for CASA of Bastrop, Fayette & Lee Counties. Bread Making Workshop

LHS Class of 2025 Dinner

A drive-thru chicken fried chicken meal with twiced baked potatoes, green beans, corn, roll and banana pudding will be held Friday, Oct. 11 from 4:30-6 p.m. at the La Grange High School cafeteria. The meal is $14 per plate. Second Saturday Cinema

St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church will be hosting a Parents Night Out on Saturday, Oct. 12. “Second Saturday Cinema” will be from 5-7 p.m. in the Church Fellowship Hall. Dinner will be served to children attending and then a family friendly movie will be shown suitable for children ages PreK-6th grade with popcorn to be served. Registration forms are available on the church website: www.stpaullg.org or on the St. Paul Facebook page to assist with meal preparation. The St. Paul LYO group will be assisting with the program. Parents are welcome to stay for the movie with their children. This will be a monthly program to occur the second Saturday of each month.

LHS Class of 1961 Reunion

Nominations For Gifted & Talented Nominations for La Grange ISD Gifted and Talented program for kindergarten students are open until Nov. 15. If you would like to nominate a child for the gifted and talented screening process, fill out a parent/community nomination form and return it to the La Grange Elementary School office. The nomination form can be found in the gifted and talented section of the LGISD website under “Documents and Forms” and in the La Grange Elementary School office.
