Hermann Sons Life

Round Top Hermann Sons Life will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, Sept. 26 at the Round Top American Legion Hall. Social time at 6 p.m. and meeting follows at 6:30 p.m. Election of officers will be held. Please bring sandwiches, cold cuts, chips, desserts, etc. for the meal following the meeting. Items may be brought to the meeting to sell in the Country Store to benefit the Ledbetter volunteer fire department.

Game Night

Rutersville Hermann Sons Lodge will have their Game Night on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 6:30 p.m. Members are asked to bring snacks or finger foods. Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. is the meeting night and fajitas will be served and members are asked to bring a side or dessert.

LG Garden Club

La Grange Garden Club embarks on a fun, learning and growing year. On Thursday, Sept. 26 at the new time of 11:30 a.m. members and visitors will begin the Club’s new year. Randolf Recreation Center is where the learning to grow bigger better veggies, trees, grass and flower gardens takes place. Bring your lunch (cold drinks will be provided), kick this new year off and meet other gardening lovers. La Grange Garden Club meets every fourth Thursday, September through May.

There’s more The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center Inc. will host game day on Thursday, Sept. 26 from 9-11:30 a.m. at the City of La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament

The Fayetteville 4-H and FFA Show Fund will be hosting a Texas Hold’m Poker Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 28 at Heh Remember When in Fayetteville. Sign up is from 6-7 p.m. $40 buy in. For more information, contact Al Gross at (713) 5163829 or Kory Kaspar at (979) 966-7949.

Czech Heritage Society Meeting

The Fayette County Czech Heritage Society meeting will be held Sunday, Sept. 29, at 2 p.m. at the TCHCC Hanslik Hall in La Grange. The guest speaker will be Polka News Editor Gary McKee, who will speak on the origin of the Polka Mass. Members, please bring a snack to share. New potential members and/ or guests are welcome.

Muldoon Museum

The Muldoon Museum business meeting will be held Oct. 2 at 2 p.m. at the museum building. The museum will be open Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

CASA Casino Night

The Hyatt Lost Pines Resort Saturday Night Lights and Casino Nights will be held Saturday, Oct. 5, 5:30-11 p.m. The premier annual fundraiser is for CASA of Bastrop, Fayette & Lee Counties. This highly anticipated event brings together community members, local businesses, and dedicated supporters of ours from across the tri-county area for a night of excitement, entertainment, and philanthropy. Experience the thrill of casino tables and games, connecting with the community, and exquisite dining, all while supporting a cause close to our hearts. Plus, this year there will be a full cash bar, bingo, a silent auction, and we’re bringing back the beloved Wild Card Game. Bread Making Workshop

The Round Top Family Library will have a bread making workshop with instructor Cathy Gau from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5. This is an adult class 18 years and up. Class size is limited. The class is free and registration is required. Call (979) 249-2700 or email info@ilovetoread.org.

LHS Class of 1994 Reunion

The La Grange High School Class of 1994 invites all its classmates to celebrate their 30th high school reunion. Join your fellow Leps at Mullins Prairie Store on Saturday, Oct. 12 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Second Saturday Cinema

St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church will be hosting a Parents Night Out on Saturday, Oct. 12. “Second Saturday Cinema” will be from 5-7 p.m. in the Church Fellowship Hall. Dinner will be served to children attending and then a family friendly movie will be shown suitable for children ages PreK-6th grade with popcorn to be served. Registration forms are available on the church website: www.stpaullg.org or on the St. Paul Facebook page to assist with meal preparation. The St. Paul LYO group will be assisting with the program. Parents are welcome to stay for the movie with their children. This will be a monthly program to occur the second Saturday of each month.
