Rep. Headquarters

Woven Ministry is a nonprofit interdenominational ministry for women that offers retreats, Bible studies, and gatherings. Join in their year-long study on the book of Exodus starting the week of Labor Day. The group meets at Crosspoint Community Church, 1010 N. Adult Tech Training

Join the Fayette Public Library in La Grange for Adult Technology Training on Saturday, Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. to noon. All computer questions are welcome. No one is born knowing this stuff. If your computer is giving you problems, bring it along. Six seats are available. Registration is required. Call (979) 968-3765 to sign up.

There’s more Heart of Texas Church of Christ located at 652 State Hwy. 304 in Bastrop will host a free garage giveaway on Saturday, Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Clothing, toys, tools, home decor and more. Refreshments will be served.

Lions Sealy Dance Club

The Lions Sealy Dance Club is having a dance on Saturday, Sept. 7 at the Sealy American Legion Hall. The band Texas Sound Check will be providing live music from 7:30 to 11 p.m. The public is always welcome.

Bethlehem AME Church

Bethlehem AME Church service this Sunday, Sept. 8, will begin at 10 a.m. with Elder Raymond Bryant-Pastor. The church is located at 2200 Bethlehem Church Ln. in La Grange.

Plum Hermann Sons Meeting

The Plum Hermann Sons Life September meeting will be held Monday, Sept. 9 at 5 p.m. at the Prairie Valley Schoolhouse, 2510 Williams Rd., West Point Meal and dessert will be provided. Fayette County Retired Teachers

The Fayette County Retired Teachers Association will meet on Monday, Sept. 9 in the Fellowship Hall of the New Life Methodist Church, 1215 Von Minden Road in La Grange, for an ice cream social and chapter meeting at 1:45 p.m. All retired teachers and school personnel are welcome to attend. Bring a friend who you would like to attend the gathering with and learn what the Texas Retired Teachers Association has to offer.

Live Country Music Monday

The Lee County Seniors will host Live Country Music Monday featuring John Dujka on Sept. 9 at the Lee County Senior Citizen Center located at 165 W. Austin St. in Giddings. Music starts at 6 p.m. and doors open at 5 p.m. Free-will donations will be accepted. Light refreshments will be served.

American Legion Post, Auxiliary No. 102 The American Legion Post No. 102 and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 102 will meet for their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. at the VFW Home located at Veterans Memorial Drive at the Fairgrounds in La Grange. The joint session will include the POW/MIA Ceremony, followed by a light meal. The Post and Auxiliary Unit will then continue their regular business meetings. Members are encouraged to attend, and potential new members are always welcome

Sages & Saints Guest Speaker Join the Sages and Saints on Thursday, Sept. 12 from 5:307:30 p.m. at New Life Methodist Church in La Grange. Sandwiches and sundaes will be served. A presentation about the Gardenia Janssen Animal Shelter will be given by Director Teresa Stanley Brown, giving an update on the new addition to the shelter. Any donations of dog or cat food or cleaning supplies are welcome on behalf of the Sages and Saints.

La Grange Senior Citizen Game Day The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center Inc. will host game day on Thursday, Sept.12 from 9 - 11:30 a.m. at the La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. Tanecka Family Reunion

The Tanecka Family Reunion will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, beginning at 11 at the Fayette County Homemakers Building at the Fayette County Fairgrounds. Each family is asked to bring a meat and a side dish for a potluck lunch to be served at noon. Paper goods and drinks will be provided. Please also bring an item for the silent auction. Bake Sale Benefits Mighty Leopard Band The Episcopal Church Women’s Club from St. James is sponsoring the Mighty Leopard Band. They will be holding a bake sale in conjunction with St. James’ Men’s Club smoked chicken and sausage sale on Sept. 14. The bake sale will start at 10:30 a.m.

St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church

The annual St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church drive-thru meal and online auction will be held Sunday, Sept. 15 beginning at 10:30 a.m. A fried chicken and sausage dinner is $13 per plate. The church is located on FM 155 between Weimar and La Grange. The online auction begins Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 9 a.m.and runs through Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. Go to www. charityauction.bid/HolmanPicnic.

Proper Flag Disposal Drop Off Locations The Texas Heroes Museum located at 171 S. Main in La Grange accepts old flags for proper disposal. The drop-off bin is inside the museum which is open 1-4 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, and 1-4 p.m. Sunday. If leaving flags outside the door when the museum is closed, please have them in a plastic bag or a box so that they are not laying on the ground.

La Grange Chess Club

La Grange Chess Club membership is open to ages 7-adult and is free. The club meets at the Randolph Recreation Center at 653 E. Pearl St. in La Grange every Monday from 5:15-6:15 p.m. Free chess lessons are provided. UIL chess puzzle skills are also taught.
