Shakespeare at Winedale’s 2024 Summer Class takes the stage this July with performances of Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Othello. Performances begin July 18 and run through Aug. 11. Performances are Thursdays-Sundays at 7:30 p.m. with matinees on Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 and may be ordered online at www.shakespeare-winedale.org.

Hunter Education
The Friends of the Weimar Public Library will host a Texas Parks and Wildlife Hunter Education Program on Friday, July 19. The class will be held at the Weimar Junior High Cafetorium, located at 506 W. Main St. The class is for any person born after Sept. 2, 1971 and nine years of age or older. Successful completion of the course is required for anyone who wished to hunt in the State of Texas. The class starts at 9 a.m. and doors open at 8:30 a.m. The fee is $15, payable at the door by cash or check. Srubar Family Reunion

Dinner & Dancing Under the Stars
St. Paul Lutheran Church and Shared Lutheran Ministries present the annual Dinner & Dancing Under the Stars on Saturday, July 20 at Hermann Sons Life Hall in Rutersville, 5830 St. Hwy. 159. Dinner is served at 5 p.m. Menu includes fried chicken, sausage and trimmings with a live and silent auction. Music provided by The Back Porch Boys at 6 p.m. B.Y.O.B. and lawn chairs and members are encouraged to bring desserts for the meal. Free-will offering will be accepted. Curbside Bulk Trash Pickup
The City of La Grange has designated Saturday, July 20, as Residential Bulk Curbside Pick-Up Day for the hard to dispose of bulky items. Waste Management will pick up one free load of bulky items on this day. All items should be within three feet of the curb Friday evening. Trucks will be starting at 7 a.m. on Saturday morning to pick up items from residential utility customers in the city limits. Bulk items include: stoves, refrigerators and air conditioners which have been tagged and certified as being “freon free” by a licensed technician, microwaves, water heaters, washing machines/dryers, barbecues, mattresses, chairs, recliners, couches and other furniture. Bulk items not accepted: tree limbs, tires, paint, chemicals, batteries, tile/toilets/bath tubs, mirrors/glass, cinder blocks/bricks/rocks, construction debris, televisions/computer monitors, motor oil or used filters. The St. James United Methodist Church located at 710 N. Jackson will have Vacation Bible School on Saturday, July 20 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. The theme is “Fun Time at Church”
Shared Lutheran Ministry Day Camp
Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County Day Camp with Lutherhill Ministries will be held July 22-26 at St. John Lutheran Church in Rutersville, 5743 State Hwy. 159. Campers welcome (per the 2024-2025 school year), participants: K-6th grade and volunteers: 7th grade and older. Registration cost is free will donation. Vacation Bible School
New Life Methodist Church, located at 1215 N. Von Minden, in La Grange, will be having Vacation Bible School, Monday, July 29 through Thursday, Aug. 1 from 5:30-8 p.m. Kids four years old through just graduated 5th grade will dive deep into an amazing undersea adventure where they will experience the ever-flowing, never-ending love of God and discover what living water is all about. Each day the adventure begins with a light dinner and continues with a Bible lesson, imagination station, crafts, science experiments, skits and games. Food Bank Truck
The Central Texas Food Bank Truck will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church located at the Junction of FM 1291 and FM 2145 on Saturday, July 20 from 10-11 a.m. Food will be distributed via the drive-thru method. Volunteers will distribute and load the pre-boxed food into each vehicle as the client drives through the line. Clients should clean out their back seats, trunks and truck beds to make room for the boxed food.

Hospice Brazos Valley is offering a Caregivers Support group. This is a monthly support group for caregivers of loved ones who have a terminal or chronic diagnosis.
