Beekeepers Association Meeting

The Fayette County Beekeepers Association (FaycoBeeks) will have their next meeting on Saturday, July 6 at the Fayette County Agriculture Building in La Grange, located at 255 Svoboda Ln. For anyone interested in learning about beekeeping, there will be a Beekeeping 101 Honey Bee Pests and Diseases from 4:30-5:30 p.m. A potluck dinner will follow, please bring your favorite entrée, side or dessert to share. Afterwards, there will be a business meeting, and a guest presentation. This is a great opportunity for new beekeepers to meet with club members that can serve as mentors and advisors. Membership dues for 2024 are $25/year, individual or family. Membership is not required to attend meetings, FaycoBeeks welcomes all attendees and encourages beekeepers and their families to join. FaycoBeeks meet the first Saturday of every month, more information can be found at faycobeeks.org.

Muldoon Museum Hours

The Muldoon Museum will be open Saturday, July 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Piano Galore at Round Top

The Round Top Music Festival Piano Galore will be held Saturday, July 6 at 1:30 p.m. in the Festival Concert Hall located at 248 Jaster Rd. in Round Top. Tickets are $30 for adults and $10 for students. Performance by Festival Institute Faculty and 2024 Texas Festival Young Artists, program to be announced.

Texas Festival Orchestra Concert

The Round Top Music Festival Texas Festival Orchestra Concert will be held on Saturday, July 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Festival Concert Hall located at 248 Jaster Rd. in Round Top. Tickets are $35 for adults and $10 for students. Performance by Festival Institute Faculty and 2024 Texas Festival Orchestra: Benjamin Britten’s Four Sea Interludes from Peter Grimes, Charles Ives’s Three Places in New England, Johannes Brahms’s Symphony No. 1 in C minor, Op. 68.

Taste of Columbus

Taste of Columbus will be held on Thursday, July 11 from 6-9 p.m. at Southern Oaks Event Center located at 1368 Hwy. 71 Business in Columbus. For information, call (979) 204-4210 Proceeds benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Champion Valley.

American Legion Quade-Werchan 

The next regular meetings of the American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and Ladies Auxiliary are scheduled for Thursday, July 11 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at their facilities located at 1503 N. State Highway 237 in Round Top. The change in meeting date is due to the post’s regular meeting falling on the first Thursday of the month, July 4, Independence Day. For the month of August, the post and auxiliary will meet on Thursday, Aug. 1. All post and auxiliary members are requested to attend their respective meetings.

Al-Anon Meetings in Bastrop

Al-Anon meetings are held every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at United Methodist Church located at 1201 Main St. in Bastrop. If you are struggling with a relative or friend who misuses alcohol or any other addiction, Bastrop Al-Anon (Let it Begin with Me) group is here for you.
