AMEN Drop Off

The Shared Lutheran Ministry drop off location for AMEN will be in Warrenton at 4444 Hwy. 237, Warrenton. Rutersville will not be the drop off location. The hours will be Monday-Thursday in the office from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Heroes Museum

Retired Admiral Weldon Koenig will be at the Texas Heroes Museum on Friday, June 28, from 1 - 4 p.m., 171 S. Main St. in La Grange. Learn about Weldon’s submarine service and other duties in the Navy. Free tours of the museum.

The Round Top Music Festival Chamber Music Concert will be held Saturday, June 29 at 3:30 p.m. in the Festival Concert Hall located at 248 Jaster Rd. in Round Top. Tickets are $30 for adults and $10 for students. Performance by Festival Institute Faculty and 2024 Texas Festival Young Artists: Johann Sebastian Bach’s Concerto for Violin and Oboe in C minor, BWV 1060R, Olivier Messiaen’s Quator pour la fin du temps.

Tickets are $35 for adults and $10 for students. Performance by Festival Institute Faculty and 2024 Texas Festival Orchestra: Bernard Herrmann’s Suite from Vertigo, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Symphony No. 35 in D major, K. 385, Dmitri Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 10 in E minor.

Networking Wednesday at Chamber

Join the La Grange Area Chamber of Commerce office located at 220 W. Colorado St. in La Grange for Networking Wednesday, July 3, from 10-11 a.m. Speaker will be Mr. Alex Cutler from H&H Door Company.

St. John Picnic Hosting Guest Speaker The St. John annual Fourth of July Picnic on July 4 will have guest speaker Retired Army Sgt. 1st Class Israel Tames for the 10 a.m. start program. Highly decorated Sgt. Tames served in Korea and Vietnam.

Holiday Garbage Schedule

City of La Grange offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. Waste Management will not have a holiday and will run their normal garbage schedule Second Chance Holiday Hours

The donations drop-off area at Second Chance Emporium will be closed Monday-Thursday, July 1-4 and July 8-11. The sales store and donations drop-off area will be open Friday and Saturday, July 5-6 and July 12-13. Regular hours of operation resume Monday, July 15.

Beekeepers Association Meeting

The Fayette County Beekeepers Association (FaycoBeeks) will have their next meeting on Saturday, July 6 at the Fayette County Agriculture Building in La Grange, located at 255 Svoboda Ln. For anyone interested in learning about beekeeping, there will be a Beekeeping 101 Honey Bee Pests and Diseases from 4:30-5:30 p.m. A potluck dinner will follow, please bring your favorite entrée, side or dessert to share. Afterwards, there will be a business meeting, and a guest presentation. This is a great opportunity for new beekeepers to meet with club members that can serve as mentors and advisors. Membership dues for 2024 are $25/year, individual or family. Membership is not required to attend meetings, FaycoBeeks welcomes all attendees and encourages beekeepers and their families to join. FaycoBeeks meet the first Saturday of every month, more information can be found at faycobeeks.org.

MVFD Annual July 4th Celebration The Muldoon Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual July 4th Celebration on Saturday, July 6. Line up for the parade begins at 8 a.m. at the corner of Kerr and 3rd St. in Muldoon. Parade will start at 9 a.m. A silent auction starts at 10 a.m. followed by a lunch of hot dogs and chips at 11:30 a.m. Water and tea will be provided. Guests are asked to bring a side dish or dessert. Following lunch will be a live auction. Come out and enjoy the parade, food and fellowship while celebrating our freedom!
