Free Movie Night

Come for a free movie, Friday, June 21, “I Believe” (2017) about a nine year old boy (Rowan Smyth) who has an encounter with God, followed by an adventurous quest. His parents are not too happy about it, especially his father, an atheist newscaster. Free hot dogs, big dill pickles, popcorn and drinks served at 6:30 p.m. Movie starts at 7 p.m. at New Life Methodist Church, 1215 N. Von Minden in the Fellowship Hall. Camp Performance

A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare presented by Camp Shakespeare at Winedale will be held Friday, June 21, 3 p.m. at The Crystal Theatre in Gonzales; Saturday, June 22, 3 p.m. at La Grange ISD Performing Arts Center in La Grange; and Sunday, June 23, 2 p.m. at the Winedale Theatre Barn in Winedale. There’s more All-Czech Chamber Music Concert Saturday, June 22 at 1:30 p.m. at Festival Concert Hall, 248 Jaster Rd. in Round Top. Tickets are $30 for adults and $10 for students. Performed by James Dick, piano, Festival Institute Faculty, Young Artist, cello: Klement Slavický’s Capricci for Horn and Piano, Antonín Dvořák’s Piano Quartet No. 2 in E-flat major, Op. 87.

Quilt Guild Guest Speaker

The Colorado Valley Quilt Guild will be hosting Cynthia Regone at the upcoming June 25 meeting at 6 p.m. Cynthia will be giving a lecture on “Scrap Quilts...Too Much Is Never Enough” and who doesn’t have enough scraps? She will also present a Trunk Show with some of the quilts in her book, “Colorful Quilts...A Journey Through Fabric”. Come out and see some very beautiful quilts and make new friends. The Colorado Valley Quilt Guild meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Randolph Recreation Center, 653 East Pearl Street, Room A East, La Grange. Guild meetings begin at 6 p.m. on even months and 10 a.m. on odd months. La Grange Senior Citizen Game Day

The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center Inc. will host game day on Thursday, June 27 from 9-11:30 a.m. at the City of La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. Food Drop Off Locations For AMEN Three churches will become alternate locations for food drop off for the AMEN Food Pantry. Only non perishable items may be dropped off at their office. No meat, dairy, produce or any item that requires refrigeration. The churches providing the services are: Shared Lutheran Ministry in Rutersville (Monday -Thursday from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.); La Grange Church of Christ (Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.); The Remnant (Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.)AMEN will continue to accept donations at the pantry at regular scheduled hours.
