Hermann Sons Rutersville will hold their October meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 1 beginning at 7 p.m. at the lodge hall. The meal will be fried chicken, bring your favorite dish to share.

Turkey & Dressing

The La Grange Knights of Columbus Chromcik Council No. 2574 annual Turkey and Dressing Supper will be held Thursday, Oct. 2 at the the KC Community Center located at 190 Brown St. in La Grange. The turkey and homemade dressing supper will also include noodles, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce and a roll. Plates are $15 each. The drive-thru only meal will be available from 4-6 p.m. or until sold out. Enter the drivethru on Water St. to Milam and exit on Brown St. Call (979) 968-5117 in advance for orders over 10 plates.

Carmine Night Out

Carmine Night Out will be held Thursday, Oct. 2, at 6 p.m. at the Carmine Volunteer Fire Department. Free hot dogs, drinks, and treats for the kids. Hear from community leaders and first responders, and participate in a flag retirement ceremony performed by American Legion Post No. 338. This event is hosted by the Carmine Chamber, Carmine Lions Club, and Carmine VFD.

Acts of Wisdom Night of Hope

Join an inspiring evening at “A Night of Hope,” a fundraiser hosted by Acts of Wisdom. Acts of Wisdom was founded 10 years ago by Pastor Brad Otto (La Grange High School Alum). While in Africa, Brad noticed the education crisis in Ethiopia and started Acts of Wisdom. Since then, Acts of Wisdom is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children in Ethiopia, Liberia, and Kenya. Acts of Wisdom is helping over 7,000 students in these three countries. They have delivered over 65,000 schoolbooks, brought dropout rates down from 35% to .9%, expanded classrooms, improved infrastructure, and has helped young women stay in school. A Night of Hope will help continue this work in Liberia by raising funds to build a brand-new school that will serve both elementary and junior high students. This new school will help expand capacity from 200 to over 700 students. Join Thursday, Oct. 2, 5:30-8 p.m. at Frisch Auf! Country Club. Invite family and friends. The evening will feature a silent auction with an array of exclusive items up for grabs and a game of heads and tails for a great prize. American Legion Quade-Werchan

The next meetings of the American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and Ladies Auxiliary will be held on Thursday, Oct. 2, in conjunction with the Carmine Chamber of Commerce Night Out. The post will be responsible for conducting the Flag Retirement Ceremony at the start of the event. Attendance will be taken by the Post Adjutant.

RT Family Library Presents

The Round Top Family Library, in partnership with Turtle Wing Foundation, presents Life and Independent Living Skills Workshop for ages 8 and up with instructors Katie Delgadillo and Stephanie Galvez on Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. - noon. This one day workshop will focus on team building, conflict resolution, and self-advocacy. Through a mix of group and individual projects, participants will learn how to navigate conflicts effectively and turn challenges into opportunities. Engaging art and STEM activities will be incorporated to reinforce these valuable skills in a creative and hands-on way. Class is free and registration is required. Adult Technology Training

Join the Fayette Public Library for Adult Technology Training in La Grange on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to noon. All computer questions are welcome. No one is born knowing this stuff. Fayette County Beekeepers Association The Fayette County Beekeepers Association (FaycoBeeks) will hold its next meeting on Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Fayette County Agriculture Building in La Grange at 255 Svoboda Ln. The evening begins with Beekeeping 101 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. a session perfect for beginners or anyone curious about getting started with honey bees. At 5:30 p.m. enjoy a potluck dinner. Bring a favorite entrée, side, or dessert to share. Following dinner, the regular business meeting will be held, then wrap up the evening with the annual Fayco Beeks 2025 Harvest Honey Contest. If you think your honey is the best in the county, this is your chance to prove it. To enter, bring an 8 oz. unlabeled mason jar filled with your 2025 harvest honey. Jars must have no labels or markings, just pure honey. Entries will be judged by blind tasting from all meeting attendees, with flavor being the only deciding factor. The winner will claim eternal glory and bragging rights as the 2025 Fayco Beek Honey Champion. Annual club membership is just $25 per individual or family, but guests are always welcome. The Native Plant Society of Texas La Bahia Chapter is hosting the 2nd annual fall plant sale on Oct. 4 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at 1402 Church Street in Brenham. Plants available for local Texas gardens.

Lions Sealy Dance Club

The Lions Sealy Dance Club is having a dance on Saturday, Oct. 4 at the SealyAmerican Legion Hall located at 1630 Meyer St. in Sealy. The Scott Wilkinson & Ez Country Band will be providing live music from 7:30-11 p.m. The public is always welcome.

Ledbetter VFD Fireman’s Feast

The Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual Fireman’s Feast on Saturday, Oct. 4 at Fireman’s Park in Ledbetter. A fried chicken dinner will be served from 5-6:30 p.m. for $15 per plate. Bingo will be played from 4-6 p.m. with a live auction beginning at 6:30 p.m. Purchase gun drawing tickets throughout the day to benefit the Ledbetter Hall Renovation Fund. Desserts will be available by the Ledbetter Homemakers Club. The Country Store will be provided by the Round Top/ Shelby Hermann Sons Life Lodge No. 151.

The 67th Woppenkamp Family Reunion will be held Saturday, Oct. 4 beginning with a social at 10:30 a.m. A noon meal at 12:30 p.m. will be served at the RowD Barn, 3214 W. Hwy. 159, Fayetteville. Lunch with tea is $13. Bring a dessert and bingo prize. RSVP to Roxane at (979) 732-4431.

Fall Roundup in Muldoon

Stray Gathering Cowboy Church, located at 211 West FM 2237 in Muldoon, will be having their Fall Roundup on Saturday, Oct. 4 starting at 10 a.m. There will be games for the kids, a Bouncy House, Cake/Dessert Walk, and 50/50 Raffle. A silent auction will be held all day till 3 p.m. The live auction will take place from 1-4 p.m. This year there will be Vintage items along with numerous fantastic items in the auction. There will be a Kid Bucket Raffle as well. Brisket, salads, dessert, and a drink will be served for $12. Children under 12 eat free. Heifer raffle tickets will continue to be sold for $20. Drawing for the winner of this raffle will be held during the auction.

NPAT Fayette Prairie Chapter Fall Social

The Fayette Prairie Chapter of the Native Prairies Association of Texas is holding its Annual Fall Social on Oct. 4 from 6 -10 p.m. at the Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club in La Grange. This popular event is a fun way to share interest in preserving and restoring native prairies in Fayette and surrounding counties, while supporting the protection of Texas’ natural heritage. Meet other local landowners working on prairie restoration and connect with your area Texas Parks and Wildlife biologists. The evening includes a delicious southern-style dinner, fun prizes, and a keynote address by Amber Arseneaux, Executive Director of the Native Prairies Association of Texas. Treasure Trail Returns to Burton

Back by popular demand, the Treasure Trail, Burton’s city-wide yard sale, is returning for its second year on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Last year’s event brought the community together for a fun-filled day of treasure hunting, and this year promises to be even bigger and better. Visitors can pick up a map of participating locations to plan their treasure-hunting route. Organizers recommend arriving early to score the best finds. Keep Burton Beautiful Event

The Burton Beautification Association is excited to announce its 2nd annual fundraising event, a fun-filled event of community, great food, live entertainment, and fundraising to help keep Burton beautiful at Laas Weeren City Park, 12500 Texas Street, Burton, on Saturday, Oct. 4 from 2-7 p.m. The event will be held with a rain date of Oct. 18. Tickets are $30, which includes six tokens to be used for food and drinks. Guests will enjoy sausage on a stick or bun, craft beer, wine, refreshing beverages all available for purchase with tokens. Austin County Farmers Meeting

The governing board of Austin County Farmer’s Mutual Fire Insurance Association, annual meeting of the membership of the Association to be held Saturday, Oct. 11, beginning at 8 a.m. at the home office of the association located at 16836 Fordtran Blvd., Industry. The membership meeting is called for the purpose of electing commissioners for the auxiliaries whose terms have or will expire within one year from the date of the annual meeting.
