Family Movie Night

Pizza, lava brownies, popcorn, and Dragons! Join for an action-packed family movie night at the Fayette Public Library. On Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 4-6 p.m. the library will be showing the live-action movie “How to Train Your Dragon,” rated PG. This movie is a registration-only event, with 20 available spots. The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center Inc. will host Game Day on Thursday, Sept. 25 from 9-11:30 a.m. at the City of La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. LG Garden Club

The La Grange Garden Club is resuming after summer break, just in time to get those fall gardens ready. Andy Behlen, local authority on all things “Fayette County Gardening”, will be the featured speaker. He will share his knowledge and tips on getting those fall gardens setup on Thursday, Sept. 25 (11:30 social time and 12 p.m. program), at the Randolph Recreation Center. The La Grange Garden Club meets the fourth Thursday of the month at 11:30 from September through May at the Randolph Recreation Center. If dirt and the things that grow in it are of interest to you, please come and check our Club.

There’s more Enjoy bingo in Carmine on Friday, Sept. 26. Doors open at 4 p.m. and games start at 6 p.m. in Carmine Hall, 300 N. Hauptstrasse St., Carmine. Come enjoy 12 regular games, $100 jackpot per game and two cover all games, $200 jackpot. Food and drinks will be available.

LHS Class of 1980 Reunion

The La Grange High School class of 1980 will have two reunion parties. The first one being Friday night, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. held at Mullins Prairie store. This party is open to everyone who wants to come no matter when they graduated so others are welcome to come join. The group will be able to spread out and order off the normal food and bar menu. Dutch treat. The second party is for the class of 1980 only on Saturday, Sept. 27 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Plum starting at 5 p.m. This is heavy hors d’oeuvres with water and tea provided. Bring your own favorite beverage. Cost is $25. Flatonia Masonic Lodge

The 150 Years Sesquicentennial of the Flatonia Masonic Lodge No. 436 A.F. & A.M. chartered on June 22, 1875 will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27 in Flatonia. Join for breakfast from 8-9 a.m. with the call to order at 9 a.m.

KC BBQ Sunday

The La Grange Knights of Columbus Chromcik Council No. 2574 will host their KC BBQ Sunday, Sept. 28. BBQ chicken and sausage to-go (drive-thru) will be available from 10:30 a.m to 12 noon at the KC Community Center located at 190 Brown St. in La Grange. A slab of pork ribs is $20, chicken is $10 and sausage is $7. Orders are guaranteed on call-ins by calling (979) 968-5117.

KC Turkey & Dressing Supper

The La Grange Knights of Columbus Chromcik Council No. 2574 annual Turkey and Dressing Supper will be held Thursday, Oct. 2 at the the KC Community Center located at 190 Brown St. in La Grange. The turkey and homemade dressing supper will also include noodles, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce and a roll. Plates are $15 each. The drive-thru only meal will be available from 4-6 p.m. or until sold out. Enter the drive-thru on Water St. to Milam and exit on Brown St. Call (979) 968-5117 in advance for orders over 10 plates.

Document Shred Day Oct. 3

Fayette Electric Cooperative and Colorado Valley Communications are teaming up once again to host their eighth annual Document Shred Day. The event takes place on Friday, Oct. 3, at the KC Community Center parking lot, located at 190 South Brown Street in La Grange. In recognition of National Cooperative Month, members can take advantage of free document shredding from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Each member may bring up to two boxes at no charge. LHS Class of 1995 Reunion

The La Grange High School class of 1995 will be having their 30 year reunion. The event will take place at Mullins Prairie Store on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. No need to RSVP, just show up. More details can be found on La Grange High School Class of 1995 Facebook page.

Girls in the Middle After School Ministry Books, faith and friends, an inter-denominational after school ministry, begins Mondays from 4:15-6:15 p.m. Oct. 6 through Dec. 15 at New Life Merthodist Church in La Grange. Come have fun and learn life and crafting skills, and how to be godly girls. Open to girls in 3rd-8th grade. Registration fee is $20 and includes snacks and all materials. Transportation will be available from La Grange Elementary to New Life Methodist Church, 1215 N.
