RT Movie Nights
The Round Top Lion’s Club is hosting five movie nights in conjunction with hamburger night at the Round Top Rifle Hall. Buy a burger meal and enjoy a free movie. Fun for the whole family. Monday starting June 6 with Clifford the Big Red Dog. Movies begin at 6:30 p.m.
St. James BBQ
The St. James Episcopal Men’s Club will hold a BBQ and the Episcopal Women will hold a bake sale Saturday, June 11 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until sold out, at 156 N. Monroe St. across from H-E-B. A half chicken will be $6 and sausage link is $7, drive through only. This barbecue is for the benefit of Mini Horse Helpers. The barbecue will open at 10:30 a.m. with no drive through pre-orders prior to 10:30 a.m.
St. Mary’s Picnic
Join St. Mary’s for their Parish Picnic on Sunday, June 12 in Hallettsville with Mass beginning at 9:15 a.m. and meal at 10:30 a.m. The church is located at 1648 FM 340 in Hallettsville.
Cemetery Meeting
The Florida Chapel Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting on Sunday, June 12 at 2 p.m. at the Muesse Chapel. Election of officers will be held. The meeting is open to the public. St. Rose Annual Parish Picnic
St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Schulenburg will hold its annual parish picnic on Sunday, June 12 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 405 South St. Masses that day will be at 7:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. A meal featuring fried chicken, sausage, potatoes, sauerkraut, and green beans will be served at the K. of C. Hall for $12 per plate. Drive-through starts at 10:30 a.m. while dine-in (which includes dessert and tea) begins at 11 a.m. A bake sale will be available in the drive-through line. The biergarten will open at 11 a.m. and, in addition, refreshments will include R&R Shaved Ice. Food, available starting at 3 p.m., includes hamburgers, tamales, and fruit. The Czechaholics will be featured outside from noon to 4 p.m. Inside the hall, Mark Halata & Texavia will play from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A live and online auction starts at 12:30 p.m. (http://charityauction.bid/ strosechurch). Online bidding ends Friday, June 17. Other activities: cake walk, country store, Bingo and a raffle drawing. Kids activities inside and around the St. Rose Family Life Center and K.C. Hall.

Retired Teachers Meeting
The Fayette County Retired Teachers’ Association will meet on Monday, June 13 at the Busted Oak Winery at 1 p.m. The winery is located at 6195 Round Top Rd. in Carmine. This will be a field trip. Kid’s Kamp Registration
Kids’ Kamp in Fayette County is structured to provide a “hands on” educational experience with the goal of introducing youth to fun and importance of gardening, soils, water conservation and insects. Students aged 10-13 will be eligible to register for the three day camp with a maximum of 15 students. Topics include recycling, organic gardening, mulches and compost, erosion control and insect identification. Children will complete and take home a garden art project and a bee house to attract pollinators to their own yards. Texas A&M is providing a Stream Trailer so children can see how rivers run and the importance of erosion control. TAMU is also providing a “smoothie bike” where attendees will pedal to provide energy to operate a blender and make themselves a smoothie. In addition to learning to use a dichotomous key to identify insects and the importance of pollinators for gardens and crops, attendees will also have car races motored by live crickets. Kamp runs for three days (Tuesday-Thursday) from 8 a.m. to noon. The cost is $30 per child. Vietnam Veterans Meeting
Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter No. 870 will meet on the third Wednesday of each month. The next meeting will be June 15 at 7 p.m. at the Ammannsville KJT Hall in Ammannsville. Food and refreshments will be provided at the meeting. VVA, AVVA and prospective members are invited to attend.
Republican Women Meeting
The Fayette County Republican Women will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, June 16 at La Grange City Hall, 155 E. Colorado, in La Grange. The speaker will be Faith Elwonger, representing Students For Life. This organization goes into high schools and colleges to calmly and factually support, discuss, and debate pro-life positions. St. John the Baptist Church in Ammannsville located on FM 1383 will hold its annual Picnic on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 19. Mass will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday. Stop and enjoy a golden fried chicken and sausage dinner served from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. All plates are $12, dine in or to go. The country auction will take place at 1 p.m. Other activities include a cake walk, bingo, ring toss, duck pond, snow cones, and hamburgers at 4 p.m. Enjoy music during the day and night by Moravians and Czechaholics.

The KJT Society No. 46, La Grange Society, is holding a Drop Off Food Drive for the AMEN Food Pantry of La Grange. The drive will be from Monday, June 20 to Friday June 24 with four drop off locations around La Grange. Drop off tables can be found at the KJT Home Office, Fayette Savings-La Grange Branch, Round Top State Bank-La Grange Branch, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Help support the fight against hunger in our community.
FCCT Auditions Peter Pan and Wendy
The Fayette County Community Theatre is calling all students to audition for the FCCT 2022 Student Production. Flatonia-Cistern Farm Bureau quarterly meeting will be held on June 21 at Robert’s Steakhouse in Flatonia. Meals will no longer be provided but can be purchased at the restaurant at 6 p.m. The guest speaker will be Scott Willey, Fayette County Agricultural Extension Agent. Meetings will begin at 7 p.m. All Farm Bureau members are invited to attend.
Fashion Fling is Back
Hospice Brazos Valley is excited to bring back “Fashion Fling” Saturday, June 25 beginning at 11 a.m. at the Peck Barn inside The Compound in Round Top. The venue is limited to 25 tables so if you are interested, get your application from the Hospice Brazos Valley at https://www.hospicebrazosvalley.org/fashion-fling or the HBV office located at 1048 N. Jefferson St. in La Grange. Silent auction items for the event are sought as well. If you have something you can donate to the event, drop it off at the Hospice Brazos Valley office. Sports Camp at First Baptist Church

Vacation Bible School
St. Paul Lutheran Church of La Grange invites children of the community who have completed kindergarten through fifth grades to Vacation Bible School, June 27 through July 1 from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The day camp will be led by a very energetic Lutherhill staff. Feed The Need
Feed the Need, a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed people physically and spiritually, will provide free burgers every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in La Grange at the southeast corner of the courthouse square. Everyone is welcome.
Widowed Spouses Support Group
Hospice Brazos Valley will host a Grief Support Group on the third Tuesday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1l:30 a.m. for anyone who is grieving the loss of a spouse. Heinsohn Family Reunion
The reunion for the descendants of Diedrich and Anna Marie Rodefeld Heinsohn will be held July 17 at the parish hall at Hostyn near La Grange, with registration beginning at 11 a.m. A catered meal will be served this year by Alley’s Bar-B-Que and Catering from Moulton. The meal will consist of chicken, sausage, giblet rice, and cole slaw. A number of plates for your family will be needed for an accurate count.
