Get Voter Ready Open House
A Get Voter Ready Open House will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 25 from 5-7 p.m. at the Fayette County Elections Office, 275 Ellinger Rd., La Grange. Get voter registration help and election questions answered. This event is hosted by the Fayette County Elections Office and the League of Women Voters of South Central Texas.
Citizen Game Day
The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center Inc. will host game day on Thursday, Aug. 27 from 9-11:30 a.m. at the City of La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. Game Day will be held the second and fourth Thursday of each month. Any questions, call Liz Tannler (281) 5431976.

The La Grange Area Chamber of Commerce will host a grand open and ribon cutting for Bartley’s Snack Stop on Friday, Aug. 28 from 11a.m. -3 p.m. Bartley’s is located at 244 N. Washington St. in La Grange.
There’s more The Round Top-Shelby Hermann Sons Life Lodge will meet on Tuesday, Aug. 25 at the Round Top Rifle Association Hall at 710 FM 1457, Round Top. A social time will begin at 6 p.m. with a meeting at 6:30 p.m. with a meal following. Please bring sandwiches, sides or desserts to share. Please note the new meeting date going forward is the fourth Tuesday of the month with the exception of the month of December, when we will continue to meet on the second Sunday of December for our annual Christmas party. Mt. Calvary Preschool Fundraiser
The Mt. Calvary Preschool is having a garage sale on Aug. 29 from 8 a.m. - 12 noon located at 800 N. Franklin St. under the BBQ pit pavilion. We will have an assortment of items from clothing, furniture, kitchen items, to home decor. All proceeds will be used to benefit the children of Mt. Calvary Preschool.
Too Many Ghosts Auditions
The Fayette County Community Theatre announces open auditions for ‘Too Many Ghosts’ on Friday, Aug. 28 from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday, Aug. 29 from 10 a.m. - noon. The auditions will be held at the Randolph Recreation Center, 653 E. Pearl Street in La Grange. Audition forms and script samples are available at www.faycotheatre.com.
KC BBQ Sunday
The La Grange Knights of Columbus Chromcik Council No. 2574 will host their KC BBQ Sunday, Aug. 30. BBQ chicken and sausage to-go (drive-thru) will be available from 10:30 a.m to 12 noon at the KC Community Center located at 190 Brown St. in La Grange. A slab of pork ribs is $20, chicken is $12 and sausage is $7. Orders are guaranteed on call-ins by calling (979) 968-5117.
OCIA Sessions Starting Soon
OCIA, The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults sessions will begin soon. Thinking of joining the Catholic Church? Free Rides to Senior Connections Seniors 60 and older can now ride the CARTS bus free anywhere in Fayette County. La Grange Senior Connections has just opened.
