Food Bank Truck
The Central Texas Food Bank truck will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church located at the junction FM 1291 and FM 2145 on Friday, April 15 from 10 until 11 a.m. It will be drive-thru only and all clients are to remain in their vehicles. Someone will be there to direct traffic. Clients are advised to make room inside their car trunks and truck beds. Food boxes will be pre-packaged and placed into each vehicle by volunteers.
Musical Meditation
St. Cecilia’s Good Friday Musical Meditation with Father Bill Miller and the Elias Haslanger quartet will take place on April 15 at 6:45 p.m. at the Edythe Bates Old Chapel at Festival Hill. No charge. All are welcome.
BBQ Pork Dinner
The La Grange Baseball Association will have a drive thru only barbecue pork dinner with all the trimmings Thursday, April 21 at the KC Hall located at 190 S. Brown in La Grange. Serving is from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tickets are $12. Call Paul Mikula at (979) 250-3362 or Tom Supak at (979) 968-9800.
Heroes Museum
The Texas Heroes Museum will be closed Saturday, April 16, for the Easter Holiday. Visit the museum the following Saturday, April 23, to honor the 80th anniversary of the Doolittle Tokyo Raid. Visit the museum’s Facebook page to learn more of this historic event and the Texans who participated.
Special Musical Service Good Friday
As part of its observances of Holy Week, St. James Episcopal Church in La Grange, will present a special musical and narrative service at 3 p.m. on Good Friday, April 15. The Gospel story of Christ’s Passion will be told in the style of Reader’s Theatre, directed by Dr. James Ayres. A choir composed of singers from several area churches will present musical selections at key intervals in the narration. Musical direction is by Don Kirby, accompaniment by Mary Ann Hatfield. Egg Hunt at Monument Hill
Monument Hill State Historic Site will host an Easter egg hunt from 5-8 p.m. with hunt beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 16. Admission is the regular admission price of the park.
Easter Sunrise Service
Calvary Baptist Church will be having an Easter morning Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. Join for worship outside on the church lawn, followed by breakfast and Bible study in the fellowship hall located at 650 S. Ellinger Rd. in La Grange. All are welcome.
Easter Egg Hunt in Carmine
The annual Easter Egg Hunt in Carmine will take place Saturday, April 16 at the Carmine City Park from 10 until 11 a.m. Kids ages 2-12 are welcome.
Bake Sale
The Ellinger Walkers will be hosting a bake sale to support the Kaycee Roesler Benefit on Satuday, April 16 at Hruska’s Bakery in Ellinger beginning at 7 a.m until all baked goods are sold.
Easter Sunrise Service
Join the La Grange Area Ministerial Alliance for a short Easter Sunrise service at Monument Hill State Historical Site at 7 a.m. on April 17. Bring your own chair. Proclaim the resurrection at the rising of the sun.
Ellinger Hermann Sons Life
The Ellinger Hermann Sons Life Lodge will meet on Monday, April 18 at the Ellinger Fire Station at 6 p.m.
FWSC Meeting
Fayette Water Supply Corporation will be conducting a meeting of the Board of Directors on Monday, April 18 at 5:30 p.m. at the FWSC office located at 200 Bordovsky Rd. in La Grange. All members are encouraged to attend.

Roy Koehl Memorial BBQ Plates
Presale tickets only for the Roy Koehl Memorial barbecue fundraiser are on sale now through April 20 at Fayette Savings Bank in La Grange, Fayetteville Bank and Orsak’s Cafe in Fayetteville and Pam’s Hair Fashions in Round Top or from 4-H and FFA members in Fayette County. The meal will be served on Thursday, April 28 in Fayetteville at the Old Fire Station on the square from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and in La Grange at the Bealls parking lot from 5:15-5:45 p.m. The meal will consist of barbecue brisket, buttered potatoes, pinto beans, pickles, onions and sauce catered by Peter’s BBQ for a donation of $12 per ticket. Vietnam Veterans Meeting
Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 870 will meet on the Third Wednesday of each month. This Month will be April 20, at 7 p.m. at the Ammannsville, KJT Hall in Ammannsville.
