Food Truck

Central Texas Food Truck will be at St. John in Fayetteville on Thursday, April 7, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. It is a drive thru distribution and all stay in their vehicle as volunteers place the food in vehicle.

Feed The Need

Feed the Need, a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed people physically and spiritually, will provide free burgers every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in La Grange at the south east corner of the courthouse square. Everyone is welcome.

Support Group

Hospice Brazos Valley will host a Alzheimer’s or Dementia Support Group and will meet on the second Tuesday of each month from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Hospice Brazos Valley is located at 1048 N. Jefferson in La Grange. Meet for support and education for caregivers of Alzheimer’s patients. For more information, contact Cindy Fanning at (979) 968-6913. Please RSVP.

Scholarship

The Fayette Community Foundation is now accepting applications for their 2021-2022 Scholarship. This scholarship offers a minimum of $1,000 to graduating high school and homeschool seniors within an 80-mile radius of La Grange who intend to further their education and training at an accredited college, university, or trade school. Applications can be found at faycofoundation. com or with local high school counselors.

Parkinson’s Support Group

For anyone struggling with the Parkinson’s disease movement disorder, the group has reactivated in La Grange the third Thursday of every month for patients and caregivers. The meetings begin at 10 a.m. at the Randolph Recreation Center located at 653 E. Pearl Street. For more information, call (832) 561-1447.

Loss of a Child Support Group

A support and education group for a parent or grandparent who is grieving the loss of a child at any age or any stage of the grieving process will be held the fourth Tuesday of each month from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Hospice Brazos Valley located at 1048 N. Jefferson in La Grange. For more information contact, Cindy Fanning at (979) 968-6913. You must RSVP to keep groups small.

La Grange Garden Club Plant Sale

The La Grange Garden Club will hold its annual Plant and Caladium Bulb Sale on Thursday and Friday, April 5 and April 7 from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Faison House located at the corner of South Jefferson (US Hwy. 77 S.) and West Live Oak St. A variety of garden plants will be available as well as several varieties of caladium bulbs. Hermann Sons Life Meeting

Hermann Sons Life Rutersville regular meeting will be held Wednesday, April 6 at 7 p.m. The lodge will furnish a chicken fried pork steak and members are asked to bring a side dish and dessert.

Community Blood Drive

A La Grange Community Blood Drive will be held Wednesday, April 6 at the La Grange KC Hall located at 190 S. Brown St. To sign up for a time slot between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., visit WeAreBlood.org or call (979) 966-3670.

Muldoon Museum Members Meeting

The Muldoon Museum will have their monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 6 at 2 p.m. in the museum building. The public is invited to attend.

Sages and Saints

The Sages and Saints of the La Grange First United Methodist Church 1215 N. Von Minden in La Grange will meet in the Fellowship Hall on Thursday, April 7 from 5-8 p.m. with movie night “The Chosen 3&4.” There will be popcorn, hot dogs and soft drinks.

American Legion Quade-Werchan

The next meetings of the American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and Ladies Auxiliary is scheduled for Thursday, April 7 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at their facilities located at 1503 N. State Hwy. 237 in Round Top. This is a change in the start time of 7:30 p.m. which was used for many years. The post leadership expects that this earlier start time for meetings will allow increased attendance and allow for greater engagement of current and potential members.

Fish Fry and Bake Sale

The Hostyn and Plum Scholarship Fund fish fry and bake sale will be held Friday, April 8 at the KC Hall located at 190 S. Brown St. in La Grange from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Drive-thru plates to go are $12 per plate. The meal will include fried fish, buttered potatoes, pinto beans and cole slaw. Tickets may be reserved by calling the KC Hall at (979) 968-5117.

St. James BBQ & Bake Sale

The St. James Episcopal Men’s Club will hold a barbecue and the Episcopal Women will hold a bake sale Saturday, April 9, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until sold out, at 156 N. Monroe St. across from H-E-B. A half chicken will be $4 and sausage link is $6. This event is drive-thru only. This barbecue is for the benefit of Hospice Brazos Valley. The drive-thru will open at 10:30 a.m. with no drive through pre-orders prior to 10:30 a.m. Avoid congestion on Travis St. (Hwy. 71) by entering on Colorado St.

RT-Carmine Kindergarten Round-Up

Round Top-Carmine Elementary will have a Kindergarten Roundup on April 12, at the elementary school from 5 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Children who plan to attend Kindergarten at Round Top-Carmine Elementary for the 2022-2023 school year are invited to attend. Parents are asked to bring their completed enrollment packet, along with all required documents at this time. Enrollment packets are available for download on the rtcisd.net website under the Parent/Student Resources tab (https://www.rtcisd.net/domain/171). There is also a check off list for the documents needed for enrollment. Packets will be checked by school staff while parents and their student(s) meet with the Kindergarten teacher. Tours of the campus will not be available during the Roundup. Children who will be five years of age on or before Sept. 1, 2022, are eligible for enrollment in the Kindergarten Class for the 2022-2023 school year.
