Habitat Sale
Fayette County Habitat for Humanity will hold a garage sale benefit on Saturday, March 5 beginning at 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at 805 Mode Ln. in La Grange.
Pancake Supper
Enjoy pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs and fruit on Saturday, March 5 from 5-7 p.m. for a free-will donation at the Hostyn Parish Hall. Dine in or drive thru. This event is sponsored by the Hostyn and Plum Crew and benefits Fayette County Habitat for Humanity.
Wellness Program
A Wellness Program for Women series will begin Wednesday at 10 a.m. beginning March 9 at St. Cecilia’s at the Haw Creek Chapel in Henkel Square in Round Top. All are invited to attend this six-week gathering. Seeking whole person wellness participants will focus on meaningful aspects of their lives related to Heart, Soul, Mind and Strength. Farm Bureau Scholarships
The Swiss Alp/Ammannsville/Dubina Farm Bureau is giving graduating senior scholarships whose mom, dad or grandparents are members of this Farm Bureau. Pick up the application form from your school counsellor.
American Legion and Auxiliary No. 102
The American Legion Post No. 102 and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 102 will meet for their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, March 9, at 6 p.m. at the VFW Home located at Veterans Memorial Drive in La Grange. New potential members are invited to attend, and member attendance is encouraged to discuss business matters. March being the anniversary month of the Post, a catered meal will be served following the meeting.
Fish Fry at KC Hall
A fish fry sponsored by Court Annunciation No. 1962-La Grange Catholic Daughters of the Americas is scheduled for Friday, March 11 at the KC Community Center 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. located 190 S. Brown in La Grange. The meal is drive thru only and plates are $12. The meal will consist of fried catfish, buttered potatoes, pinto beans and coleslaw. Shelby Turkey Stew
The Shelby American Legion annual turkey stew fundraiser will be held Saturday, March 12 at the Shelby Post 602 located 4019 FM 1457 in Shelby. Bring your own containers. Sale begins at 2 p.m. Cost is $30 a gallon. Baked goods will also be available.
The Libertarian Party of Fayette County will hold Precinct Conventions at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8 at the Swiss Alp Farm Bureau Hall. Bring your voter registration card. Anyone who did not vote in the Republican or Democratic primaries may participate. You must attend if you wish to be a delegate at the County or State Convention. The County Convention takes place at noon on Saturday, March 12, at the La Grange City Council Chamber. Delegates at the County Convention will formally select candidates for local and state office, including Will Martin, the only candidate running as a Libertarian for Fayette County Judge.
