LG Bridge Club

The La Grange Bridge Club will begin regular play the first and third Wednesday of each month starting Wednesday, March 2 at 1 p.m. at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club. Muldoon Museum

The Muldoon Museum meeting will be held Wednesday, March 2 at 2 p.m. at the museum. Visitors are welcome.

Ash Wednesday

St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, located at 110 W. Walnut in La Grange, invites you to their Ash Wednesday Worship Service with Holy Communion on March 2. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.

City Schedule

City offices will be closed Wednesday, March 2, for Texas Independence Day. Waste Management will not have a holiday and will run their normal garbage schedule. If you need additional information, call (979) 968-3127.

New Garbage and Recycling Carts

Waste Management will be delivering new Waste Management branded garbage and recycling carts to City of La Grange residents beginning the week of Feb. 28. Do not put these carts at the curb until the old Republic Services carts are removed the week of March 7. Once removed, residents will use their WM branded carts moving forward. Waste Management will continue normal services without any changes to your normal scheduled service day. Place carts at the curb by 7 a.m. on collection day with the handles facing the home. Recyclables go in the green cart with yellow lid. Trash goes in the green cart with the green lid. Ash Wednesday

Come get your “Ashes to Go” on Ash Wednesday, March 2 from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the St. James’ Episcopal Church parking lot located at 156 N. Monroe in La Grange.

American Legion Quade-Werchan

The next meetings of the American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and Ladies Auxiliary is scheduled for Thursday, March 3, beginning at 6:30 p.m. This is a change in the start time of 7:30 p.m. previously used for many years. The post leadership expects that an earlier start time for meetings will allow increased attendance and allow for greater engagement of current and potential members.

Habitat Garage Sale

Fayette County Habitat for Humanity will hold a garage sale benefit on Saturday, March 5 beginning at 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at 805 Mode Ln. in La Grange.

Pancake Supper in Hostyn

Enjoy pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs and fruit on Saturday, March 5 from 5-7 p.m. for a free-will donation at the Hostyn Parish Hall. Dine in or drive thru. This event is sponsored by the Hostyn and Plum Crew and benefits Fayette County Habitat for Humanity.

Muldoon Museum Hours

The Muldoon Museum will be open for visitors on Saturday, March 5 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Chicken Fried Steak Drive-Thru

Fayette County Farm Bureau will host a drive-thru dinner and bake sale on Tuesday, March 8 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the KC Hall located at 190 S. Brown St. in La Grange. A chicken fried steak meal with gravy, mashed potatoes, vegetable and a roll will be served. Purchase and pick up tickets at the Farm Bureau office located at 411 E. Colorado or call (979) 968-5889 or (979) 968-5117 to reserve plates. The meal is free will donation collected to benefit Fayette County Food Pantries and a limited number of plates will be available without reservation.

Wellness Program for Women

A Wellness Program for Women series will begin Wednesday at 10 a.m. beginning March 9 at St. Cecilia’s at the Haw Creek Chapel in Henkel Square in Round Top. All are invited to attend this sixweek gathering. Seeking whole person wellness participants will focus on meaningful aspects of their lives related to Heart, Soul, Mind and Strength. Feed The Need

Feed the Need, a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed people physically and spiritually, will provide free burgers every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in La Grange at the southeast corner of the courthouse square. Everyone is welcome.

Farm Bureau Scholarships

The Swiss Alp/Ammannsville/Dubina Farm Bureau is giving graduating senior scholarships whose mom, dad or grandparents are members of this Farm Bureau. Pick up the application form from your school counselor.
