New Garbage Carts
Waste Management will be delivering new Waste Management branded garbage and recycling carts to City of La Grange residents beginning the week of Feb. 28. Please do not put these carts at the curb until the old Republic Services carts are removed the week of March 7, 2022. Once removed, residents will use their WM branded carts moving forward. Waste Management will continue normal services without any changes to your normal scheduled service day. Place carts at the curb by 7 a.m. on collection day with the handles facing the home. Recyclables go in the green cart with yellow lid. Trash goes in the green cart with the green lid. 2022 Quilt Show
The 24th Annual Best Little Quilt Show will be held Feb. 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Feb. 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Community Center located at 190 S. Brown St. Admission is $10.
Feed the Need
Feed the Need, a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed people physically and spiritually, will provide free burgers every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in La Grange at the south east corner of the courthouse square. Everyone is welcome.
Texas German Society Meeting
The Fayette County Chapter of the Texas German Society will meet on Monday, Feb. 28 at 4 p.m. at the Randolph Rec Center. The guest speaker will be Gavin Miculka, Kreische Brewery and Monument Hill State Historic Sites Assistant Site Manager. Members are invited to bring your favorite snack or dessert to the meeting. Visitors are always welcome.
Basic iPhone Class

Court Annunciation Meeting
Court Annunciation No. 1962, La Grange, will hold its monthly meeting on Monday, Feb. 28 at the Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewcz Center in La Grange at 6:30 p.m. The court will be accepting donations to the Family Crisis Center. They will have a representative at the meeting. Members are encouraged to attend and prospective members are always welcome.
Hermann Sons Life Meeting
Hermann Sons Life Rutersville has changed their regular meeting date to Tuesday, March 1 at 7 p.m. The lodge will furnish pork loin and members are asked to bring a side dish and dessert.
La Grange Bridge Club
The La Grange Bridge Club will begin regular play the first and third Wednesday of each month starting Wednesday, March 2 at 1 p.m. at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club. Ash Wednesday
Come get your “Ashes to Go” on Ash Wednesday, March 2 from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the St. James’ Episcopal Church parking lot located at 156 N. Monroe in La Grange.
City Offices Holiday Schedule
City offices will be closed Wednesday, March 2, for Texas Independence Day. Waste Management will not have a holiday and will run their normal garbage schedule. If you need additional information, call (979) 968-3127.

The Muldoon Museum meeting will be held Wednesday, March 2 at 2 p.m. at the museum. Visitors are welcome.
American Legion Quade-Werchan
The next meetings of the American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and Ladies Auxiliary is scheduled for Thursday, March 3, beginning at 6:30 p.m. This is a change in the start time of 7:30 p.m. previously used for many years. The post leadership expects that an earlier start time for meetings will allow increased attendance and allow for greater engagement of current and potential members.
Muldoon Museum Hours
The Muldoon Museum will be open for visitors on Saturday, March 5 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Chicken Fried Steak Drive-Thru
Fayette County Farm Bureau will host a drive-thru dinner and bake sale on Tuesday, March 8 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the KC Hall located at 190 S. Brown St. in La Grange. A chicken fried steak meal with gravy, mashed potatoes, vegetable and a roll will be served. Purchase and pick up tickets at the Farm Bureau office located at 411 E. Colorado or call (979) 968-5889 or (979) 968-5117 to reserve plates. The meal is free will donation collected to benefit Fayette County Food Pantries and a limited number of plates will be available without reservation.
