American Legion
The American Legion Post No. 102 and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 102 will meet for their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, July 8, at 6 p.m. at the VFW Home located at Veterans Memorial Drive at the Fair Grounds in La Grange. The Auxiliary agenda includes the Installation of Officers for the 2026-2027 term. The Girls State Delegate will also be present to give a brief summary of her experience at the June Girls State Session held in Seguin. Members are encouraged to attend the business meetings. New members are always welcome. A light meal will be served, with the regular business meetings to follow.
Game Day
The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center Inc. will host game day on Thursday, July 9 from 9 a.m. -11:30 a.m. at the City of La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. Game Day will be held the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month.
There’s more The St. James Episcopal Men’s Club (Holy Smokers) will hold a BBQ Saturday, July 11, from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. or until sold out, at 156 N. Monroe St across from H.E.B. A half chicken $6 and sausage link $7, drive through only. This BBQ is for the benefit of The Texas Ramp Project.
Adult Technology Training
Come join us for Adult Technology Training at the Fayette County Library in La Grange on Saturday, July 11, from 10 a.m. - noon. All computer questions are welcome. No one is born knowing this stuff. Kappler, Groeschel, Berger, Wukasch
All relatives and descendants of Andreas Kappler, Agnes Groeschel Kappler, John Ernst Berger, and Anna Wukasch Berger are invited to attend a family reunion at the Holy Cross Church Hall on Saturday, July 12 beginning at 10 a.m. A meal will be served at 12:30 p.m. Please bring enough food for your family. Paper goods, tea, and coffee will be provided by the reunion. Bring your own soft drinks and beer. Donation for beer provided will be taken. There is a playground for the children. Bulk Curbside Pick Up
The City of La Grange has designated Saturday, July 18, 2026, as Residential Bulk Curbside Pick-Up Day for hard to dispose of bulky items. Waste Management will pick up one free load of bulky items on this day. All items should be within three feet of the curb by Friday evening. Trucks will be starting at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday morning to pick up items for La Grange Utility Customers within the city limits. BULK ITEMS INCLUDE: Stoves, refrigerators and air conditioners which have been tagged and certified as being “freon free” by a licensed technician, microwaves, water heaters, washing machines/dryers, barbeques, mattresses, chairs, recliners, couches and other furniture. BULK ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED: Tree limbs, no lumber/wood, tires, paint, chemicals, batteries, tile/ toilets/bathtubs, mirrors/glass, cinder blocks/bricks/rocks, construction debris, televisions/computer monitors, motor oil or used filters. Only one set of mattresses per residence will be accepted. Refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioning units must be tagged certifying that the refrigerant has been removed by a certified technician. Mica-Mares Family Reunion
The annual Mica-Mares family reunion will be held on Sunday, Aug. 3 at the Flatonia Civic Center from 10:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. Bring a covered dish to share for the meal and donate an item for our silent auction.
Habitat For Humanity ReStore
