Weimar Farmers Market Saturday

 

La Grange Church of Christ VBS

The Weimar Farmers Market will be held Saturday, June 20 at the City Pavilion Municipal Park, 106 W. Market in Weimar, from 9 am. - 1 p.m. Vendors are wanted. Visit the Weimar Chamber website at www.WeimarChamber.com for more information.

La Grange Church of Christ is hosting Vacation Bible School on June 22-24. Each evening, from 6-7:30 p.m. children who are 3 (must be potty-trained) through 6th grade will dig into Scripture and learn to Follow the Narrow Brick Road. Each evening will include an original drama, a Bible lesson, singing, activities, memory verses, and a snack. On Wednesday, we will conclude with a brief program and treats at 7:20 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. If you have any questions, you can call the church office at (979) 968-5676.

Mobile Food Pantry

The Central Texas Food Bank Mobile Food Pantry will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church on Saturday, June 20 from 10-11 a.m. drive through only. All are welcome.

This laugh out loud western comedy features Aquilina and a group of orphans in a recently abandoned wild west town. Three mysterious strangers appear to rescue the orphans and start a pie making business. However, Aquilina remains unconvinced this is for the best. Presented completely by area students, tickets are available at www. faycotheatre.com.

Vacation Bible School Schulenburg

Vacation Bible School (VBS) at First Baptist Church of Schulenburg will be held Monday - Friday, July 6-10, from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. Bible stories, music, crafts, recreation, and snacks daily for kids who have finished Kindergarten through 5th grade. Bockhorn-Rodenbeck Family Reunion

The 87th annual Bockhorn-Rodenbeck Family Reunion will be held on Sunday, July 19, at the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department Hall, 5295 Main Street, Chappell Hill. Family members should look for an upcoming email from bockhornrodenbeckfamily@ gmail.com with information regarding reservations, meal prices and activities planned for the day including a raffle, bingo and children’s jump house and games. Future emails from this account will provide additional information prior to the reunion. Family members are encouraged to share this information with other members so they can attend.

Bingo for Seniors

Bingo for seniors (60 and older plus guests) will be held at the Ledbetter Community Center on Sunday, June 21 from 2-4 p.m. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. $5/card covers all games with prizes awarded for each game. Chips/snacks and drinks will be available for freewill donation. This is a non-profit community event for entertainment. Money collected will be used for purchase of prizes and other expenses.

Slimemaking at the Library

The Fayette Public Library will have a Blacklight Slimemaking event on Wednesday, June 24, from 2-4 p.m. and craft your own glowing slime masterpiece. All supplies are included, but space is limited to 20 participants. All library programs are free and open to the public. Drop by or call the library at (979)968-3765 to reserve your spot.

La Grange Senior Citizen Game Day The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center Inc. will host game day on Thursday, June 25 from 9-11:30 a.m. at the City of La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. Free Financial Wellness Sessions

New Life Methodist Church located at 1215 N. Von Minden in La Grange is excited to offer free financial wellness sessions Monday, June 29 through Thursday, July 2 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. for parents during Vacation Bible School through the New Life Financial Wellness program. You will meet with a certified financial planner and build toward a personalized financial plan you take home at the end of the week during each session. The program is open to the entire community. 70th Heinsohn Family Reunion

A reunion of the descendants of Diedrich and Anna Marie Rodefeld Heinsohn will be held Sunday, July 19, at the City of La Grange VFW Post 5254, 500 Veterans Memorial Drive, La Grange with registration beginning at 10:45 a.m. A registration fee ($6 adults and $3 children ages 3-12) for reunion expenses taken at the door will also give you the chance to win the door prize, a unique table centerpiece made from a piece of a log cabin built about 1867 by Wilhelm and Meta Harfst Heinsohn on their farm in Colorado County. A fried chicken meal, catered by Oakridge Smokehouse will be served at noon. Plates cost $14 each for adults, $7 for 10 years and younger to be prepaid by check to Heinsohn Reunion Fund, c/o Holly Heinsohn, 1258 CR 361, Shiner, Texas 77984 before July 7. Bring a dessert to share (optional); and homemade or miscellaneous items for the silent auction (optional). To mark the 70th Reunion, Rox Ann Johnson, historian, will present a 45-minute program and slideshow about the early Heinsohn ancestors a preview of the Heinsohn family book she is writing. Grief Group Being Offered

Hospice Brazos Valley is offering a new grief group for anyone who is grieving. This can be for any human grief, i.e. parent, grandparent, sibling, best friend, and the ones that HBV already offers, spouse, child. This support group will meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 10:30-noon at the Hospice Brazos Valley office, 1048 N Jefferson, La Grange.
