FCCT Auditions

FCCT will host auditions this weekend, Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7 at 4:30 p.m. for the summer student productions of “Abandoned Way Out West” by Diana Burbano and “Little Women” adapted by Marsha Chamberlain. Adult Tech Training

Join for Adult Technology Training at the Fayette Public Library in La Grange on Saturday, June 6 from 10 a.m. noon. All computer questions are welcome. No one is born knowing this stuff. Fayette County Beekeepers Association

The Fayette County Beekeepers Association (FaycoBeeks) will hold its next meeting on Saturday, June 6 at the Fayette County Agriculture Building in La Grange at 255 Svoboda Ln. The evening begins with Beekeeping 101 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. a session ideal for beginners or anyone interested in getting started with honey bees. At 5:30 p.m., members and guests will enjoy a potluck dinner. Please bring a favorite entrée, side, or dessert to share. Following dinner, the club will conduct its regular business meeting and then welcome this month’s guest speaker, Charlie Agar, founder of Charlie Bee Company. Charlie discovered beekeeping in 2013 after attending an introductory beekeeping course similar to the Beekeeping 101 classes offered through our club. What began as a hobby quickly grew into a full-scale operation. Today, Charlie manages more than 300 honey bee colonies across Central Texas, producing honey and specializing in humane live bee removals. Annual membership is $25 per individual or family, and guests are always welcome. FaycoBeeks meets on the first Saturday of each month (except July). Texas Czech-Slovak Queen Pageant

Please join the Czech Heritage Society of Texas for the 24th Annual Miss Texas Czech-Slovak Queen and 4th Annual Youth Royalty Pageants crowning new royalty to represent their titles across Texas and the US for 2026-2027. The event will be held at the Jay F. Feibelman Garden Ridge Community and Event Center, 9400 Municipal Parkway, San Antonio on Saturday, June 6. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and opening ceremonies begin at 9 a.m. These contestants will represent various chapters in the following categories: Queen, Junior Queen, Junior King, Little Princess and Little Prince. Lunch meal tickets are $16 for adults and $11 for ages 10 and under. Tickets are available for purchase at the door. Activities include a silent auction, vendor booths, Parade of Kroje, and a performance by the Czech-Slovak Dancers of CHS, including the May Pole dance. The event concludes by 3 p.m.

Faison Summer Classical Piano Concert

The Faison Preservation Society invites your to join them for their annual Summer Concert 2026 on June 7 beginning at 2 p.m. Enjoy a Sunday afternoon of beautiful classical piano music performed by two students attending the Round Top Festival Hill Institute and special guest violinist Christiano Rodrigues. They will be playing the Faison family Knabe Square Grand Piano at Historic N. W. Faison House, 822 S. Jefferson St., La Grange. Tickets can be purchased online at www.faisonhouse.org/concert.

Cost $30 per person, benefitting musical appreciation and historic preservation.

Country Music Night in Giddings Country Music Night will be held Monday, June 8 at the Lee County Senior Center, 161 West Austin in Giddings. Music starts at 6 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. There is plenty of parking in the back. Light refreshments will be served. Music by John and Seth Kalbas with Paul Tucker on drums. All proceeds collected will be given to the music talent.

Fayette County Retired Teachers

The Fayette County Retired Teachers Association will have a luncheon June 8 at 1 p.m. at Robert’s Steakhouse, 1241 SH-95, in Flatonia. Melanie Mica, District 13 Vice-President, will be in attendance to install new officers. Guest speaker will be Kristi McBride, Executive Director of Parents as Teachers of Rural South Central Texas. All current and newly retired school district personnel are invited to attend to enjoy food and fellowship.

Czech Heritage Society Piknik

The Fayette County Czech Heritage Society will host its annual Piknik, with a meeting to follow, on Tuesday, June 9 at 6 p.m. at TCHCC in La Grange. The CHS High School scholarship will be presented and there will be accordion music, Czech-English bingo, a sausage wrap picnic dinner, and a silent auction. Hermann Sons Life Plum will meet Tuesday, June 9 at 1 p.m. at Murphy’s Steakhouse in Winchester. Please note the one time change of the day, date and place for the month of June. Members are encouraged to join.

American Legion Post And Auxiliary TheAmerican Legion Post No. 102 and theAmerican Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 102 will meet for their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, June 10 at 6 p.m. at the VFW Home located at Veterans Memorial Drive at the Fair Grounds in La Grange. The Post agenda includes Installation of the newly elected Officers. The Auxiliary agenda includes the presentations of local Scholarships, and also the Installation of the newly elected Officers for the 2026-2027 term. Members are encouraged to attend to show their support for both organizations. Potential new members are always welcome. A light meal will be served, with the regular business meetings to follow.

La Grange Senior Citizen Game Day The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center Inc. will host game day on Thursday, June 11 from 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at the City of La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. Flatonia-Cistern Farm Bureau Meeting

Flatonia-Cistern Farm Bureau Dinner and 2026 quarterly meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 16, at the American Legion Hall in Flatonia. Social hour will start at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:30. The guest speaker will be Lynn Burlbaw, Beekeeper. A business meeting will follow the potluck meal. Members are asked to bring a meat tray, a salad, or a dessert dish.

Hostyn KJT BBQ Pork Steak Dinner

The Hostyn KJT Society No. 3 will hold their annual drivethru fundraiser on Wednesday, June 17 from 4-6 p.m. at the La Grange KC Community Center. The barbecue pork steak dinner will include buttered noodles, vegetable blend, and a peach half for $15 a plate. A bake sale will also be held in conjunction to benefit CREW, the Youth of the Hostyn and Plum parishes, with matching funds provided by the KJT Home Office. Habitat For Humanity ReStore

Fayette County Habitat for Humanity ReStore is open for sales and donation drop-offs every Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at 825 N. Main St. in Schulenburg. The ReStore sells and accepts donations of home goods to support Habitat’s mission. Visit www.fchfh.org/ReStore.

Community Prayer Gathering

Everyone is invited to the monthly Community Prayer Gathering, an area wide multi-church sponsored event, meeting the first Sunday of each month at Redimidos Por Cristo Church is located across the street from Tejas Healthcare at 131 S. Grief Group Being Offered

Hospice Brazos Valley is offering a new grief group for anyone who is grieving. This can be for any human grief, i.e. parent, grandparent, sibling, best friend, and the ones that HBV already offers, spouse, child. This support group will meet on the third Wednesday of each month from 10:30-noon at the Hospice Brazos Valley office, 1048 N Jefferson, La Grange.
