Domino Tourney
The Randolph Recreation Center located at 653 E. Pearl St., Building D, will host a 42 Domino Tournament on Friday, May 29 and Saturday, May 30. Friday registration is 5:30-6:45 p.m. with play at 7 p.m. $30 a team Friday. Saturday registration begins at 8:30-9:45 a.m. with play at 10 a.m. $50 a team. Swiss Alp Dance
The SwissAlp Dance Club is having a dance on Sunday, May 31 at the Schulenburg Hall located at 405 West St. in Schulenburg. The band, The Fabulous Six, will be providing live music from 2-5:30 p.m. The public is always welcome; the doors open at 1 p.m.
Chamber Players
The new Colorado Valley Chamber Players (CVCP) group is debuting their first in a series of concerts this Sunday, May 31, 3 p.m., followed by a Meet the Artists reception at St. James’Episcopal Church across from H-E-B. The hourlong “French Prelude” program consists of piano and flute pieces by Debussy, Bizet, Lili Boulanger and more, featuring Miles Gillette-Bockhorn and Isabelle Jamois. Free will donation welcome. There’s more The City of La Grange will be addressing nuisance mosquitos by spraying during the late evening hours (after 9 p.m.) the first and second week of June, weather dependent, in the city limits of La Grange. We are asking any homeowners that have bee hives, which would be sensitive to the spray, that wish not to have their yard sprayed for nuisance mosquitos, to contact La Grange Utilities as soon as possible at (979) 968-3127 to provide their home address and phone number. City crews will spray from the streets only; they will not come into any yards. Although spray is not harmful to humans or animals, we encourage everyone to stay indoors while evening spraying occurs.
Blessing of the Bikes
St. Paul Lutheran Church, 110 W. Walnut St. in La Grange, will host a Blessing of the Bikes on Sunday, May 31 beginning at 10 a.m. Enjoy a bicycle obstacle course, hot dogs, Blue Bell, giveaways and fun.
KJZT No. 41 Meeting
The KJZT No. 41 will have a special meeting Sunday, May 31 after the 8 a.m. Mass.
KC Fried Pork Chop Meal
The La Grange Knights of Columbus will hold it’s 13th annual Msgr. Harry/KC Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser of a fried pork chop meal including black-eyed peas, buttered potatoes and cabbage for $15 per plate on Thursday, June 4 from 4-6 p.m. at the KC Community Center located at 190 S. Brown St. in La Grange. No tickets or call-ins; first come, first served.
American Legion-Werchan No. 338 The next meetings of the American Legion Quade-Werchan Post No. 338 and Auxiliary will be held on Thursday, June 4 at their facilities located at 1503 N. State Highway 237 in Round Top, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The post will not hold a meeting on July 2 so that members can enjoy the 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding and participate in local celebrations being held on July 4. All veterans in the Round Top-Carmine, Winedale, Warrenton, Ledbetter, Waldeck, and Ruttersville area are encouraged to join Post No. 338 and share in fellowship with others who have served our nation.
Fayette County Beekeepers Association The Fayette County Beekeepers Association (FaycoBeeks) will hold its next meeting on Saturday, June 6 at the Fayette County Agriculture Building in La Grange 255 Svoboda Ln. The evening begins with Beekeeping 101 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. a session ideal for beginners or anyone interested in getting started with honey bees. At 5:30 p.m., members and guests will enjoy a potluck dinner, please bring a favorite entrée, side, or dessert to share. Following dinner, the club will conduct its regular business meeting and then welcome this month’s guest speaker, Charlie Agar, founder of Charlie Bee Company. Charlie discovered beekeeping in 2013 after attending an introductory beekeeping course similar to the Beekeeping 101 classes offered through our club. What began as a hobby quickly grew into a full-scale operation. Today, Charlie manages more than 300 honey bee colonies across Central Texas, producing honey and specializing in humane live bee removals. Annual membership is $25 per individual or family, and guests are always welcome. FaycoBeeks meets on the first Saturday of each month (except July). The Sealy Dance will be held on Saturday, June 6 at the Sealy American Legion Hall located at 1630 Meyer St., Sealy. The band, Al Sulak and the Country Sounds, will be providing live music from 7:30-10:30 p.m. The public is always welcome.

Reunion
The Freudenberg-Kirchhofer 73’ Annual Family Reunion will be held Sunday, June 7 at Plum Hall at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 126 Plum Church Road, Plum. A noon meal consisting of barbecue chicken, sausage, brisket, and pork butt will be provided for a nominal charge. Each family is requested to bring a side dish and/or dessert, along with your favorite beverage. Tea and water will be provided. Don’t forget your silent auction items. Faison Summer Classical Piano Concert The Faison Preservation Society invites your to join them for their annual Summer Concert 2026 on June 7 beginning at 2 p.m. Enjoy a Sunday afternoon of beautiful classical piano music performed by two students attending the Round Top Festival Hill Institute and special guest violinist Christiano Rodrigues. Eichler and Kieke Family Reunion Extended family and friends are all invited to the Eichler and Kieke family reunion on Sunday, June 7 at the La Bahia Hall beginning at 11 a.m. with a noon chicken fried steak meal, and silent auction. A new treasurer will be elected, and a special “thank you” goes to the Beetner’s for their duties of treasurer for so many years.
La Grange Chess Club
The La Grange Chess Club meets every Monday at 5:15-6:15 p.m. at the Randolph Recreation Center located on 653 E. Pearl St. Free membership is open to ages 5 to adult.
