Readers’ Theatre Event at The Quilt Museum

Fayette County Community Theatre is performing a readers’ theatre collaboration with The Texas Quilt Museum in La Grange this weekend called “The Patchwork Quilt.”

The dramatic reading centers on Mrs. Willis, a recent widow, and her daughter Anne and son-in-law Joe who are trying to coax from her dementia-riddled mind where she might have put the deed to her home and property. It needs to be located in order to sell the farm to a developer with plans to build a hotel on the property.

Mrs. Willis remembers fondly sewing her old patchwork quilt and tells her granddaughter all the memories and importance each unique square holds.

The cast includes:

Mrs. Molly Willis: Regina Keilers Anne Wendall (Mrs. Willis’s daughter): Tanya Tousek Joe Wendall (Anne’s husband): Jeff Wick Young Molly (20 and 27 yrs old): Jenny Townzen

William Willis (Molly’s husband): Brandon Theut Emily (Molly/William’s daughter): Bailey Tousek Betty (Anne/Joe’s daughter): Bailey Tousek

Tickets are $20 per person. Saturday’s event begins at 6 p.m. and Sunday’s event begins at 3 p.m.

Both events include a 30 minute wine and cheese reception in the garden, with an opportunity to browse the quilt galleries, then the theatre presentation, which runs about 25 minutes.

The theatre box office is at 120. S. Washington in La Grange and open 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Tickets are also available online at www.fayettecountycommunitytheatre. com.
