Buckner’s Creek WMA Seminar will be held Saturday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. at St. Peter and Paul Church Hall on Plum Church Rd. in Plum. Registration, meeting, presentation, prizes and meal to follow. Meal tickets are $5. Please bring a salad or dessert.
Trunk or Treat
Come enjoy trunk or treat, games with prizes, a bounce house and slides, a photo booth, free hot dogs, popcorn, and cotton candy on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 6-8 p.m. Local first responders will be present for the kids to see emergency equipment up close and get to know some of our brave men and women. Trunk or Treat in Bastrop
Heart of Texas Church of Christ will host its annual Trunk or Treat on Sunday, Oct. 27 from 5- 8 p.m. There will be games for kids to win treats and a movie for kids and of course a multitude of trunks decorated and set to hand out treats to trunk or treaters. Heart of Texas Church of Christ is located at 652 SH 304 in Bastrop.
CDA Meeting No. 1962
CDA Court Annunciation No. 1962 of La Grange and Plum will be meeting on Monday, Oct. 28 in the Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewicz Center in La Grange at 6:30 p.m. Kristi Bauer of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) will be the guest speaker. Donations for CASA will also be accepted (gift cards, diapers, wipes, any size clothing, or board games for birth to 18). Members are invited to attend and new members are always welcome.
Treats at Monument Hill Nursing Home
Remember your seniors this holiday season. Monument Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in La Grange invites the community to trick or treat at the nursing home. Stop by from 4-6 p.m. on Halloween and receive treats from nursing home residents. Come show off your costumes to our local seniors. Beekeepers Association Meeting
The Fayette County Beekeepers Association (FaycoBeeks) will have their next meeting on Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Fayette County Agriculture Building in La Grange, located at 255 Svoboda Ln. For anyone interested in learning about beekeeping, there will be a Beekeeping 101 presentation, “Honey Bee Biology” from 4:30-5:30 p.m. A potluck dinner will follow, bring your favorite entrée, side or dessert to share. Afterwards, there will be a business meeting, and a presentation by Bill Baxter, Assistant Chief Apiary Inspector, with the Texas Apiary Inspection Service. This is a great opportunity for new beekeepers to meet with club members that can serve as mentors and advisors. Membership dues for 2024 are $25/year, individual or family. Membership is not required to attend meetings, FaycoBeeks welcomes all attendees and encourages beekeepers and their families to join. FaycoBeeks meet the first Saturday of every month. The La Grange Band Booster Club will have a drive-thru meal Thursday, Nov. 14 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. a the La Grange High School. The meal will consist of fried chicken, twice baked potato, corn on the cob, green beans, roll and cherry cobbler. Plates are $14.
