Quilt Festival

History Program

The Colorado Valley Quilt Guild is sponsoring a bus ride to The Houston International Quilt Festival and seats are still available. For information, visit www.coloradovalleyqg. com.

The Fayette Heritage Museum and Archives is sponsoring another great Texas history program and book signing, “11 Days on the Colorado: The Pivotal Battle Unfought,” on Thursday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. in the library meeting room, 855 S. Jefferson Street, La Grange. Both the author, James E. Brasher, and illustrator, Amanda Danning, will be on hand to sign copies of this book about events in our vicinity in March 1836.

Senior Game Day

The La Grange Senior Citizen Activity Center Inc. will host game day on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 9-11:30 a.m. at the City of La Grange Randolph Recreation Center. This will be our last game day for this year. Game Day will begin again on Thursday, Jan. 9 2025. For more information contact Liz Tannler at (281) 543-1976.

There’s more The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church located at 211 W. FM 2237 Muldoon will have a Fall Festival Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Chuckwagon lunch consisting of cowboy stew, cornbread, biscuits and a dessert will be served for $10. Children 10 and under eat free. Kids games, cake walk, dummy ropin’, and pony rides. A live auction will take place under the pavilion at 1 p.m.

Glow with Jesus Night Trunk or Treat

Come enjoy trunk or treat, games with prizes, a bounce house and slides, a photo booth, free hot dogs, popcorn, and cotton candy on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 6-8 p.m. Local first responders will be present for the kids to see emergency equipment up close and get to know some of our brave men and women. Buckner’s Creek WMA Seminar

Buckner’s Creek WMA Seminar will be held Saturday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. at St. Peter and Paul Church Hall on Plum Church Rd. in Plum. Registration, meeting, presentation, prizes and meal to follow. Meal tickets are $5. Please bring a salad or dessert.

Four Old Broads Adds Performance Fayette County Community Theatre is offering one additional performance of the play Four Old Broads by Leslie Kimbell, Sunday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. at the Historic Casino Hall in La Grange. Special Polka Service

St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in La Grange will have a special Polka Service on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 10 a.m. The service is in celebration of Reformation Sunday. The music will be provided by the St. Paul Praise Band and features liturgical lyrics to familiar polka tunes. A traditional German meal will follow the service. The community is invited to attend. CDA Meeting No. 1962

CDA Court Annunciation No. 1962 of La Grange and Plum will be meeting on Monday, Oct. 28 in the Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewicz Center in La Grange at 6:30 p.m. Kristi Bauer of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) will be the guest speaker. Donations for CASA will also be accepted (gift cards, diapers, wipes, any size clothing, or board games for birth to 18). Members are invited to attend and new members are always welcome.
