Public Square Rosary Rally Oct. 11 in Fayetteville

A Public Square Rosary Rally will be held on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 12 p.m. on the square. This rally, sponsored by America Needs Fatima, will be one of over 23,000 rallies taking place all across the U.S. that day. They ask for everyone to please join them as they pray for the repentance and conversion of our great nation, asking God to save America through the rosary of His Most Holy Mother.

New Shop Downtown

“one O three by SCM Design” is the official name of the new shop in the old Bloom & Co. space. Stop in to check out the home décor, gifts and a wide selection of plants. The grand opening is planned for Oct 11 with a soft opening as early as this weekend.

“We want this to be more than just a store,” stated owner Pablo Arguello. “It’s about creating a place where people feel welcome.” More than anything, the owners say they’re looking forward to being part of the community. “We love Fayetteville and can’t wait to welcome our new neighbors. Our hope is that one O three becomes a gathering place as much as a store.”

The rumors are true—by years end, one O three will offer up a coffee bar. Shoppers can sip on lattes or iced coffees and matcha while browsing. They say another surprise is brewing for next year, so stay tuned.

Traffic

It was previously stated that all the trucks carrying gravel and aggregate that run through Fayetteville enter the town now at 5:30 a.m. Neal Doty commented, “The sand and gravel trucks are actually coming through the town earlier than 5:30 a.m. My concern is the through-town traffic on city streets, like Bell St. The city could set and enforce a city street speed limit of 20 mph.”

“Speed limit signs and additional signage can discourage through traffic, especially these trucks. Waze and Google maps route them onto Bell St,” stated Doty. “Once a truck makes the left turn onto 159 from 955, they’re going to use that street. Safety issues could be mitigating circumstances if we could somehow include the school zone as part of the problem.”

Bulletin Board

A new community bulletin board, funded by the Greater Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce and built by FISD AG Mechanics students, will be installed on the front of the Fayetteville Performance Theater and Community Center, pending approval from the Historic Preservation Board. The students, under the direction of their teacher Caleb Loafman, include Cullen Hunger, Enoch Loafman, Josiah Loafman, and William Green.
