Prayers Urged as LG Mom Recovers After Accident

The driver of the passenger vehicle involved in the horrific crash near Kirtley last Friday was Sarah Logsdon, the Children’s Minister at First Baptist Church of La Grange.

Texas Department of Public Safety investigated the crash, but a report was still not available as of Wednesday, Sept. 25. The crash happened around noon on Friday, Sept. 20, at the intersection of N. Kirtley Rd. and SH 71. Logsdon was transporting her two young twin boys when she got into a wreck with an 18-wheeler.

Dr. Steve Brown, Senior Pastor at First Baptist, spoke to the congregation about the accident during worship services last Sunday. Brown said Logsdon’s twin boys were released from the hospital the same day as the accident.

“God supernaturally protected those boys,” Brown said during the service.

Logsdon remained hospitalized as of Sunday with serious injuries, Brown said.

“Sarah was protected greatly by God,” he said. “There’s no way she should have walked away from that accident alive. She’s not walking, but she’s made it.”

Brown said the injuries required multiple surgeries, and she will face a long road to recovery. Brown asked the congregation to keep Logsdon and her family in their prayers, and to assist the family during their time of need.
