The Fayette County Commissioners Court heard an introduction from representatives of the Prairie View A&M Extension Service at their meeting last Thursday, April 23.

Prairie View Extension Agent Ronnie McDonald and Natriez Peterson, Assistant Program Leader for the extension service’s economic development unit, spoke about the free services they offer to the community. Some of those resources include small business development training, first-time homeowners education training, and workforce development training.

McDonald invited the judge and commissioners to participate in a “Community Bridge Builders Breakfast.” This event brings together elected officials and local school leaders to discuss topics of community interest.

“We’ve got a lot of other different things that we want to do,” McDonald said. “We want to serve you, so we want to walk with you. We’ve already met emergency management (Angela Hahn). She’s given us some great ideas … We’re ready to work with you. We’ve got a great relationship with AgriLife, got a great relationship with the community.”

County Judge Dan Mueller welcomed McDonald and Peterson to Fayette County and thanked them for the introduction.
