Polka Lovers Club of Texas Museum Offers Dance Instruction During Fall Open House

The Polka Lovers Club of Texas Museum (PLCTM) is hosting a Fall Open House with opportunities to learn to polka and waltz on Friday, Oct. 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 19 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Public is invited to attend and celebrate the beginning of the fall season. The Open House is based around Czech culture with many activities and exhibits both days all within the Czech Village located in the La Grange Fairgrounds.

As a tribute to…POLKA, the music that continues to rock our state, nation and world; there will be a lot of polka music, entertainment and refreshments. Additionally, there will also be Polka and Waltz Dance instruction for anyone and any age who wish to learn to dance to the happy music made for happy people. Instruction will take place Friday at 5:30 p.m.; Saturday at 11:30 a.m., 2:30 and 4:30 p.m.

The Museum opened in 2006 with the primary mission to provide a facility to incorporate the accumulation of memorabilia to provide exhibits depicting the evolution of Polka Music and Dance dating back to the early 1900s.

The museum is located at 275 West Fairgrounds Road, La Grange, TX 78945 within the Fayette County Fairgrounds in the Czech Village with a mission to preserve, promote and educate polka music and dance.
