Play Bingo in Ledbetter Sunday

Bingo in Ledbetter will be held this Sunday, Sept. 14 for seniors 60 and older plus guests. It takes place at the Ledbetter Community Center from 2-4 p.m. with the doors opening at 1:15 p.m. Cost is $5, which covers all games with prizes.

Chips, drinks, and other snacks will be available for a donation. This is a non-profit community event for entertainment. Fried Chicken Dinner

The Carmine Hall is sponsoring a fried chicken dinner fundraiser on Sunday, Sept. 21. Carry-out only is from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 per plate. It includes a half chicken with trimmings. Desserts will be available for a donation to support the scholarship fund.

RT-C School News 

Round Top-Carmine JV, and varsity volleyball teams host Mumford on Sept. 9 beginning at 4:30 p.m. The teams host Flatonia on Sept. 12 also at 4:30. Jr. High volleyball team plays at Richards on Sept. 15 at 5 p.m.

Jr. High Baseball hosts Richards on Sept. 11 at 5 p.m.

Jr. High and high school varsity girls and boys will compete in the Moulton Invitational cross-country meet on Sept. 13.

FFA meeting is Sept. 10 at 6:30 p.m.

Looking ahead, picture retakes will be taken on Sept. 19 along with volleyball, and cross country photos.

Classes will be dismissed at 12:30 on Sept. 19.

Capital Area Food Bank The next date for the mobile pantry of the Capital Area Food Bank near Ledbetter is Sept. 20 from 10 - 11 a.m. Pick up is in the parking lot of the Waldeck Evangelical Lutheran Church located at FM 1291 and FM 2145. The pantry is available to Fayette County residents.

Shrimp Boil Fundraiser 

The RT-C Booster club is sponsoring its second annual Shrimp Boil fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 27. This year it will be held at the Round Top Rifle Hall, with Happy Hour beginning at 5 p.m. The meal will be served at 6 p.m. VIP table for 10 is $1,200 and a table for 8 is $700. Designer Purse Bingo 

The RT-C Education Foundation will hold the first Designer Purse Bingo in the Round Top-Carmine area on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. at the Carmine Hall. The Foundation will be raising funds to continue its mission of providing Arts Enrichment, Technology, and Innovative Teacher Grants for the students of Round Top-Carmine ISD.

Tickets for a fun evening with ten designer purses to win, drinks, and light bites, are available now online on the website, rtceducationfoundation.org/ event-tickets. Senior Citizens meal pickup and dominoes are Wednesday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Mission and Ministry Building.

Rebekah Group meets Thursday at 2 p.m.

AA meeting is Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Sunday School meets Sunday at 9 a.m.

Worship, with Holy Communion observing Holy Cross Day, is at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Bonnie Parker serving as the guest pastor. The Noisy Offering will be received for Lutherhill Ministries.

Domino part is Monday at 1 p.m.

Meals on Wheels 

Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels with Combined Community Action is on Wednesdays at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church Mission and Ministry Building located at 250AugsburgAve. in Carmine. Come early to play dominoes and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Hours are 9-11:30 a.m.

Five meals come in a box along with milk, dessert, and bread for a donation of $10. This makes it $2 per meal. It is for seniors age 60 and up. Food usually arrives about 10 a.m. and must be picked up by 11:30 a.m.
