Little League Season Begins Here With Opening Day Festivities
Over 300 players and 50 volunteers are part of La Grange Little League program, and many of them came out Saturday morning for opening ceremonies at the fairgrounds softball fields. All the teams and coaches were introduced as the players processed onto the field. Then most of the teams held their first games throughout the rest of the day.
Shown below are several special guests at the program. From left to right: La Grange High School grad and former East Tennessee State University standout Katelin Wolff Roecker threw out one of the season’s ceremonial first pitches followed by La Grange mayor Jan Dockery, who threw out the second “first pitch.” Former NFL player and La Grange resident Brodney Pool caught both first pitches. Marissa Muras sang the National Anthem.
