Plant Show Returning to the Fayette County Fair This Year

The La Grange Garden Club will sponsor a Plant and Flower show at the Fayette County Fair this year, held on Labor Day Weekend.

The Fair hasn’t had a plant show in several years. Pat Karisch of the La Grange Garden Club said her organization wanted to bring it back.

“We decided we’d give it a shot,” Karisch said. “We talked to the people at the Fair, and they are thrilled to have us.”

This year’s show will be an exhibit only with no contest. If the reception goes well, there could be a contest next year, Karisch said.

“We’re trying to get the word out so that people have time to groom their plants,” Karisch said.

There will be limited space this year. Exhibits will be accepted on a first-come, firstserve basis. Registration will be through the Fayette County Fair Website, www.fayettecountyfair. org. Pre-registration deadline is Aug. 25. An individual may enter no more than two plants.

Entries will be accepted on Wednesday, August 27, from 1-6 p.m. at the back door of the Creative Arts Building. Entries must be picked up on Monday, September 1, 2025, from 10 a.m.-noon. Plants remaining after the pick up time will become the property of the La Grange Garden Club.
