Picking Park Returns Saturday

Pickers will be picking at the Fayetteville Community Center for Picking Park this Saturday. Enjoy an exceptional lineup of local bluegrass musicians who get together the second Saturday of each month from January-November and keep the tunes flowing from 2 p.m. till they’re played out. Bluegrass pickers of all experience levels and fans are invited.

City of Fayetteville 

The City is reviewing customer data in its utility billing program to ensure it is updated and accurate. This will help when there is a need to notify customers of water-related issues. Please reach out to the City to do a quick review of your information.

Stop by the City offices or call the City Secretary, Sandee Wilkinson, at (979) 378-2559 during operating hours (10 a.m.-2 p.m.) Monday through Friday.

Fayetteville EDC 

The Fayetteville Economic Development Corporation (FEDC) will meet on Wednesday, Aug. 12. All are all welcome to attend. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month beginning at 7 p.m.

Dog Stations 

One of two dog stations has been installed on the square. Look for the second one to go in on the northwest side in the next few weeks.

City Council Meeting 

An emergency City Council meeting was held Monday to review new Texas Water Development Board grant opportunities and adopt a resolution prior to the deadline.

Fayetteville ISD 

The staff at FISD returned to work on Monday. The 2026-27 school year begins Wednesday, August 12.

Fayetteville Store 

There are plenty of cool updates at the Fayetteville store: an upgraded checkout system, brand-new Sunoco gas pumps, and a new cook serving up lunch daily from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. As a reminder, breakfast tacos are ready for pickup starting at 6 a.m.

Triple C Event 

Owner Craig Goerig held an inaugural event, “Triple C,” at Hey Remember When recently featuring a car show, cornhole tournament and BBQ cook-off. The event raised $1,800 for Camp Hope.

Mobile Food Pantry 

The Central Texas Mobile Food Pantry will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Wednesday, Aug. 12 from 10-11 a.m. Walk up to the entrance and bring bags or carts for pickup.

St. Paul Lutheran 

St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are recorded every week, rotating among four Shared Lutheran Ministry churches and posted on the Facebook page for the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. Services are also featured on KTIM 89.1 Sundays at noon.

St. John the Baptist Catholic St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville holds Mass Saturdays at 5 p.m., and Sunday’s at 10 a.m.

St. Mary Catholic Church St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger holds Mass on Sunday’s at 8 a.m.

Fayetteville Brethren 

Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9 - 9:45 a.m.
