PAT Holds Easter Party at Weimar Elementary
The Schulenburg/Weimar Area Parents as Teachers (PAT) held their annual Easter Party at the Weimar Elementary School on April 7 with 145 parents, children and volunteers participating in the event.
Families and children could participate in 10 activities. All activities allowed children to work on their cognitive, socialemotional, gross motor, fine motor, and literacy skills. When arriving families started using their gross motor skills to hunt for two of the same color eggs.
Once they found their matching eggs, families then used their fine motor skills to create bunny ears to wear during the party. Parent Educator Windi Raphael helped children put their bunny ears on.
PAT Advisory Board member Juanita Duchicela demonstrated to families the sing-along activity.
Other activities consisted of children throwing rings around the carrot, ducky toss, bunny race, egg lacing art, egg collage, and bunny tail dabber art.
The PAT would like to give a special thank you to Koopman Catering for catering the event, everyone enjoyed the chicken spaghetti. Weimar Lions Club provided free eye exams for the children. PAT also wanted to thank the volunteers, PAT families, PAT educators and WISD;. Any parents with children ages 0-5 are invited to join the PAT program.
