Otto Wins Best Overall Barbecue at Tomato Festival

The Ellinger Tomato Feast was held May 29-31. At the barbecue contest on Saturday, Brock Otto won the title of Best Overall Barbecue. On Sunday, a fried chicken and sausage meal was served.

The next bingo event will be Sunday, June 14.

ECC will meet Tuesday, June 9 at 7 p.m. in the chamber dining hall. All chamber and community member are invited to attend.

Wayne Kocian, along with the help of his son, Kasen won first place in the county contest for turning in the most hog ears. They hunted 149 hogs at the eastern part of the county.

New Commissioner 

Richard Minar was sworn in as Commissioner on May 28 by Mayor Mikulenka for a two-year term.

Shared Lutheran Ministry 

Worship services are still offered on Facebook, You Tube and KTIM 89.1 on Sundays at noon. Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 a.m. with communion.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church 

St. Mary’s Catholic Church mass is Sunday at 8 a.m.

Brethren Church 

Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Facebook page.

Hermann Sons Life 

Members are asked to submit photos of their high school or college graduate to be featured in the Hermann Sons Life newsletter and social media. Photos must be a head shot and include such information as contact information, name of school they are graduating from and future plans. Send to elaines@hermannsonslife. org. Ellinger Sewer and Water 

ESW will meet Monday, June 8 at 6 p.m. at the fire station.
