Operation Good Neighbor, organized by Stacy Allen, helped a local family on June 18 after a storm took the roof off Kenny and Beverly Fowler’s home on Eblin Street.

While driving past the family’s home, Stacy decided to make a post on Facebook asking for help regarding the home repairs.

Her call for help was answered, and the group began work on June 18, beginning at 8 a.m and ending 7 p.m.

While working, Stacy along with the large group of volunteers bagged and removed debris, removed large tree limbs at risk of falling, cut the trees into pieces that they then removed from the property, hauled off approximately 90% of the downed trees, and arranged for the city to pick up the rest, adding the cost to Stacy’s utility bill.

When asked why she decided to organize “Operation Good Neighbor,” Stacy replied that “The motivation behind launching Operation Good Neighbor arises from my belief in the intrinsic value of every individual, their homes, and their quality of life. In our hectic lives, it’s easy to overlook the reality that we all inhabit a vast world where everyone can benefit from a helping hand at times.” She continues, “I live by the principle that whenever I feel idle or lacking purpose, I should reach out to support others. Whether by volunteering my time or offering a comforting gesture, supplying essential supplies, delivering groceries, or simply cleaning a neighbors yard after a storm.”

“I want to extend a heartfelt thanks to everyone who responded to my call for help. Your generosity, whether through time, donations, or financial support, has made a tremendous difference. To those who wished but were unable to, your willingness is deeply appreciated. Special thanks to Kenny and Beverly Fowler for providing us with this opportunity to spread love and make a positive impact in our community.”
