Only RTC & Schulenburg to Have Contested School Board Races

The deadline for candidates to file for the May 3 school board elections was Friday, Feb. 14.

The election for La Grange I.S.D. will be canceled since the incumbents are unopposed:

• Place 1 - Anthony Wessels

• Place 2 - Travis Ulrich

• Place 3 - Mary White Gunn Schulenburg I.S.D. will hold an at-large election for two seats on the school board. The two incumbents, Joel “Boone” Blansitt and Shannon Hollas, will face two challengers, Stephanie M. Prihoda and Lisa Goodlander.

Flatonia I.S.D. will cancel its election since only the incumbents filed:

• Place 1 - Dan Sullivan

• Place 2 - Jessica Morrell

• Place 3 - Pastor Tim Rowell Round Top-Carmine I.S.D. will hold a special election to fill an unexpired term for Place 7 after incumbent Carl Schoebel resigned. Two people have filed for election: Bryan Kirts and Kyle Fricke.

Fayetteville I.S.D. will cancel its election since only the two incumbents filed: Mark Schmitt for Place 3 and Rodney Beseda for Place 7.
