OktoBierfest is Coming Up This Saturday in Round Top

A chill is in the morning air, giving us a hint that Fall is near, and so is the Round Top Schuetzen Verein’s OktoBier-Fest 2024.

This year’s Fest will again be held on Oct. 26 on the Club’s shady grounds just east of Round Top at 710 FM 1457.

Start time 11 a.m. The Oktoberfest food is ready. On hand is Bratwurst, Kassler Rippchen which are smoked pork chops, Schweineschnitzel which are deep fried breaded pork loins, and all the tasty sides. But wait, there are a multitude of Biers on tap and in the bottle. To name a few from Germany are Hacker Pschorr, Paulaner and Weihenstephaner, and this year a variety of domestic Biers from Shiner, Yuengling and Anheuser Busch.

The entertainment line up is also authentically German/ Bavarian. Yodeling, traditional folk tunes and Blasmusik.

Entertainers include Enzian Buam, the yodeler from Frelsburg, Auf Geht’s, the authentic Bavarian party band from Houston, and the hometown Round Top Brass Band. Music starts at 11 a.m. as well. The Ceremonial Keg tapping is scheduled at Noon.

OktoberBierFest fun entertainment includes Masskrugstemmen, the everpopular Steinholding contest for men and women and also the Saufmaschine, alias the drinking machine, a device with five hoses connected to 12 oz. of Bier.

All activities will conclude at 6 p.m. The Fest will be held rain or shine.
