Officers Respond to Carter Motel

La Grange Police responded early Sunday morning to a report of a woman with a gun at the Carter Motel. No gun was found, according to La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath.

Gilbreath said a witness called police at 6:40 a.m. on June 5 reporting a disturbance at the Carter Motel between a man and a woman. The caller said the woman was carrying a gun. Gilbreath said the woman told police she was carrying brass knuckles, which the caller may have confused for a gun.

Gilbreath said officers determined that the argument was over a cigarette lighter. He said the man and the woman lived next door to each other in the motel.

Officers did not arrest either party Sunday morning, but Gilbreath said they may face charges for criminal threats.
