NVCC Hears From Hospice Brazos Valley

NVCC Hears From Hospice Brazos Valley

Navidad Valley Community Connections had an interesting and fun week at the Senior Center in Schulenburg this last full week in May. The week started off with Cindy Fanning from Hospice Brazos Valley. Pastor Lemae Higgs came on Monday. She shared some of her time with members.

A urgent need has come to the attention of NVCC and that is the need for competent caregivers for Alzheimer’s/dementia patients, so that their family members can have some respite time for themselves. NVCC is looking into this from a community point of view and are exploring options based on the service providers in the community.

The week rounded out with a rousing Bingo session on Wednesday. Molly Davila from Wells-Fargo Bank came. She is a real good Bingo caller. She makes members laugh, but she makes them work for their bingo prizes, too. Members played different bingo games with Molly and she is always up for a challenge. A fun time was had by all.
