Nominate Your Favorite Texas Ag Influencer

Texas Farm Bureau is searching for the first Texas Ag Influencer of the Year.

The new contest will help surface Texas-based influencers who use their platforms to promote agriculture, food and rural life. Whether sharing farm stories, showcasing Texas- grown products or advocating for the rural way of life, these influencers play a vital role in connecting consumers with agriculture.

“Social media is a great tool for telling our agricultural stories,” Lemae Higgs, Fayette County Farm Bureau president, said. “This contest will help Farm Bureau find individuals who are passionate about sharing those stories and creating content that helps their followers learn about agriculture.”

Content creators are reaching broad audiences, and the Texas Ag Influencer of the Year Contest aims to elevate and spotlight the importance of digital agricultural advocacy.

The contest will recognize those who use their voice to engage, inspire and teach their followers about farming, ranching and food production.

“We encourage you to nominate individuals that you like to follow online—regardless of how many followers they have,” Higgs said.

Applicants must be Texas residents and actively engaged in ag- or food-related content creation on social media. Platforms may include Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube or others. Content should be original, accurate and reflective of the diversity and values of Texas agriculture.

A panel of judges will evaluate entries based on content quality, creativity, engagement, consistency and overall impact on agriculture.

The winner will receive a $5,000 cash prize, expensepaid trip to Texas Farm Bureau’s annual meeting in December, branded gear and a potential influencer contract with Texas Farm Bureau.

Nominations are open through July 1. Self-nominations are accepted.

The winner will be announced later this year.
