Discover Senior Connections, a gathering place for active seniors in Schulenburg, Weimar, and Flatonia.

Join for a fun-filled week at Senior Connections, where friendships flourish, laughter resonates, and delicious home-cooked meals await. Located in Schulenburg, our welcoming center is dedicated to providing a vibrant community for seniors. Daily schedule starts at 9 a.m. with fresh coffee served by our devoted volunteers, creating the perfect atmosphere for a day of connection and engagement.

Senior Connections offers various games every morning to keep minds sharp and spirits high. There is some-thing for everyone, from dominoes to sequence, Tarok, and puzzles. At 11:30 a.m., we gather for a delightful home-cooked meal, preceded by the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer. The combination of good food and great company makes Senior Connections truly special.

We host enriching “Lunch and Learn” sessions and engaging bingo games in the afternoons, ensuring the fun continues until our doors close at 2 p.m.

Join on Monday, July 28 at the Senior Connections Activity Center in Schulenburg, located at 1111 Bowman Ave. in Wolters Park, next to the Boys and Girls Club. The menu will feature a delicious enchilada casserole, Spanish rice, and beans, complemented by desserts lovingly prepared by our members. This day also includes “Get to Know Your Neighbor” time after lunch, allowing members to mingle and deepen their relationships. At 12:30 p.m., Peyton Steele from Amedisys Home Healthcare will join for bingo, bringing her bright spirit to our gathering.

On this fifth Tuesday of the month, July 29, we will prepare the KC Hall in Schulenburg for our summer indoor picnic, themed “Road Trippin’.” Enjoy hot dogs with all the fixings, root beer, and Coke floats for dessert. Members are encouraged to bring side dishes; please label them for easy return. After the meal, we’ll have live music from Super Dave Hollas and bingo with the Schulenburg Police Department calling the numbers. Morning activities will feature road trip-themed games with exciting prizes. Let us know if you want to join the fun at (979) 743-3227.

We are excited to introduce “Artful Friday” on Aug. 1. with classes in partnership with Arts for Rural Texas. These classes, open to those aged 55 and up, will feature acrylic painting with Susan Grooms and mosaics with me, Stephanie Shroyer. Classes run from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. with a light lunch served afterward. For these month-long courses, pre-registration is required; while the acrylic class is complete, there is still room in the mosaic workshop. Interested participants can call the center at (979) 743-3227 to join the waitlist.
