Newborn Kitten Blessed

Marilyn and Chuck Gibson of La Grange discovered a newborn, orphaned kitty by their barn Sunday morning as they were preparing to go help with the St. James’ Episcopal Church’s Blessing of the Animals, a tradition on St. Francis Feast Day. He was blessed by Rev. Dr. Sharon Turner at St. James’ this past Sunday. “The little fella was skin and bones,” Chuck said.

Asked about giving him a name, he said, “we’re thinking about ‘Francis.’”
