NBT to Open a Branch in Bastrop

National Bank & Trust (NBT) Friday announced that the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has approved the bank’s application to establish a branch in Bastrop. Built on more than 135 years of community banking in La Grange, NBT is taking the same values, the same faces, and the same neighbor-first approach to one of the state’s fastest-growing areas.

NBT expects to open the Bastrop branch in the second quarter of 2027.

“La Grange will always be home — it’s where we were founded, where we’re headquartered, and where our story began in 1888,” said Scott McManus, President and Chief Executive Officer. “But we’ve built something here that’s worth sharing. We can’t wait to bring the NBT family to Bastrop and show a new community what it means to bank with neighbors — people who know your name, understand your goals, and are invested in seeing you succeed.”

The Bastrop branch marks NBT’s second market expansion in recent years, following the opening of its Corpus Christi location in June 2024. These expansions aren’t a departure from what NBT has always been — they’re an extension of it. Rooted in one of Texas’ oldest national bank charters, NBT grows the same way it has always operated: deliberately, relationally, and with the long view in mind.

Further details — including the branch address and timeline milestones — will be shared as the project progresses.
