Navidad Valley CattleWomen 5K Ranch Run Still Taking Registrations
The Schulenburg Festival is a community celebration. One of the traditions that brings friends and family out bright and early on Saturday morning is the5K.The 9th Annual Navidad Valley CattleWomen 5K Ranch Run will be held on Saturday, Aug. 6, starting at 7:30 a.m.. It is not too late to register. On-line registration is available athttp:// getmeregistered.com/NVCattle-Women5Kand is open through midnight on Thursday, Aug. 4. Pre-registration will save participants $5 and will ensuret that they get a shirt in the size they wish. There is also a special discount for junior high and high school cross country athletes. In person registration will also be available on Saturday morning beginning at 6 a.m. The funds raised will be awarded to graduating seniors from Fayette, Lavaca and Colorado counties withan interest in Agriculture.Navidad Valley CattleWomen have presented over $80,000 in scholarships since they were first awarded in 2006. The Navidad Valley Cattle-Women, a local chapter of the Texas Cattlewomen, is a nonprofit organization that supports and promotes the beef industry. The Navidad Valley local works to support local youth with scholarships and provide quality information on the industry and how to incorporate beef into a healthy diet.
