Muniz Named Fair’s Volunteer of the Year

The Fayette County Fair Association has named Tish Muniz as their 2024 Volunteer of the Year.

Tish Muniz became a member of the Fayette County Fair Association in 2018. Shortly after, she was appointed to the Board of Directors and elected to be the Treasurer. She has remained in that position since then. The role of Treasurer is a year-round job. From working on the budget to making sure finances are in order, she takes her job very seriously and does it with pride.

Tish is a La Grange native and lives here with her husband Aaron (who is also a fair member). She has 2 children, Reece and Kole. Every Labor Day Weekend, as far back as she can remember, has been spent at the Fairgrounds. Even though the last 7 years have been in a different role, she still enjoys it just the same.

When she is not doing “fair stuff”, she enjoys spending time with her family, going to concerts, relaxing at the coast, cooking and shopping.

Tish is an active member of the Rotary Club of La Grange (who serves the best burgers during the fair) and is the Secretary of Mt Calvary Board of Preschool. She thoroughly enjoys volunteering when and where she can.

She has been in banking for 21+ years and is currently VP of National Bank & Trust. In 2022, she was awarded the Rising Star award from the La Grange Chamber of Commerce. In 2023, she received the Emerging Leader Award from Texas Bankers Association. She also graduated from SW Graduate School of Banking at SMU in 2023.

At NBT, she organizes volunteer opportunities with her fellow coworkers and promotes the importance of community service. Some of the events that she and her coworkers volunteer at include the Cowboy Gathering, Bluff Schuetzenfest, Movie Nights on the Square, Oktoberfest, and Schmeckenfest.
