Muldoon Church to Host Nationally Acclaimed Artist
The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church is preparing for a special guest on March 30. Christine J. Scott, 2009 Female Vocalist of the year, 2011 Song of the Year “Beyond the Clouds,” 2012 Female Vocalist of the year, and 2022 Heart Award from the International Association of Music Ministries is coming to Muldoon. This is a chance to hear the nationally acclaimed artist in person. Make plans and mark your calendars to come out to enjoy some great Christian music.
Everyone is invited out to The Stray Gathering Cowboy Church on any Sunday morning beginning at 9:30 a.m. with coffee and sweet treats along with some socializing before the 10 a.m. Sunday morning worship services. This is the chance to come and join in this fast-growing church. They a welcoming church that is working hard to honor God is all their services. SG2C has a youth group service on Wednesday nights beginning at 6-8 p.m. are a great way for any area youth ages 13-18 years old to spend a Wednesday evening.
Gloria Barta Passes Away
Steven McFarlin’s grandmother, Gloria Barta passed away on Jan. 31 at the age of eighty-one. Lovingly known as Granny to her grandchildren and Great Granny, the title she was most proud of. Graveside services were held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Flatonia with a reception at Flatonia Baptist Church.
On a recent morning after a doctor’s appointment in Austin Ron and Pam Knotts took a drive out Highway 71 toward the Texas hill country. The primary destination was Marble Falls and the Blue Bonnet Cafe. The restaurant is well known across the area for great country dishes, all day breakfast, and friendly service. But Ron and Pam were most interested in the pie. With mile high meringue and fifteen different flavors, hundreds of pies are created every day right in the cafe kitchen and are sold by the slice and the whole pie. Ron knew the Lemon Cream was his choice and a whole pie came back to Muldoon. This was only the second visit for Ron and Pam to the Blue Bonnet Cafe but it won’t be the last.
I took off for the last week of January to join my friend Alayna Kidd in Houston for the Houston Boat and Auto Show at the NRG Center. We set up and worked her booth, Spur Ranch Jewelry for the show and got to meet a lot of interesting people from all over the world who were shopping for jewelry while shopping for boats.
