Motorcyclist Hit, Killed Near LG’s Post Oak Bar

A local motorcycle driver, Bradley Votaw, died at the scene of a two-vehicle wreck on FM 155 near La Grange Tuesday evening, Sept. 2.

The wreck happened around 7 p.m. in front of Post Oak Bar and Grill, located at 1114 FM 155.

The other vehicle involved was an gray SUV. Fayette County EMS reported that the motorcycle driver died at the scene. The driver of the SUV was treated for minor injuries but declined hospital transport.

Texas Department of Public Safety investigated the crash, but a report was not available in time for this publication.

A witness told the Record that he was traveling behind the gray SUV when the crash happened. The witness said the SUV was heading north, toward the Bluff, and the motorcycle was heading south, toward Weimar. The witness said the SUV turned left into the parking lot at Post Oak, and the motorcycle crashed into the side of the SUV.

First responders shut down FM 155 for about an hour while they processed the scene. Traffic was diverted around the area via Loehr Rd.
