Moreau Wins Pct. 2 JP Spot

Jamie Moreau won the threeway race for Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace with more than 50 percent of the vote, thus avoiding a runoff election. The unofficial vote tally was Jamie Moreau with 804 votes (51.11 percent), Brad Neville with 252 votes (16.02 percent) and Victor Weishuhn with 517 votes (32.87 percent).

“I am so honored that the voters had confidence in me,” said Jamie Moreau. “It motivates me to do the best job for them. I cant wait to get into office and serve our precinct.”

Moreau said she was surprised that the race did not head for a runoff.

“My opponents were nothing but gracious and they have a presence in the community,” she said. “I thought it would be difficult. It’s a relief and a surprise. I want to thank the voters. The turnout was amazing.”
