The Central Texas Mobile Food Pantry will be at St. John on Wednesday, Sept. 10 from 10 - 11 a.m. Walk up to the entrance and bring bags or carts for pickup.

Fayetteville City Council 

At the recent City Council meeting, several agenda items were discussed:

• The City Council approved the donation of the Economic Development Corporation grant to the Greater Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce for a local food survey.

• Approval was granted to take action on a possible tree removal at Fayette St. and N. Washington.

• An update was given on the TxDOT Hwy. 159 paving project, regarding the completion of a crosswalk.

• Dog waste stations are to be installed in the square when, and if, approved by the Historic Preservation Board.

• A suggestion was presented to the City Council to form a subcommittee to organize a celebration for America’s 250th anniversary next July.

The Fayetteville Economic Development Corporation (FEDC) will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 10 All are all welcome to attend. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month beginning at 7 p.m. Discover more about the FEDC on this website:

High School Reunion 

Reminder that the annual reunion for Fayetteville High School and St. John’s School graduates will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20 at Joe’s Place and is hosted by the class of 1975. It will begin at 4:30 p.m. with a social gathering, meeting and meal.

The meal is $18 per person and payment is due no later than Sept. 10. Choose between chicken fried steak and grilled chicken breast. Both come with potatoes, green beans, salad and tea.

St. Paul Lutheran 

St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are recorded every week, rotating among four Shared Lutheran Ministry churches and posted on the Facebook page for the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. Services are also featured on KTIM 89.1 Sundays at noon.

St. John the Baptist Catholic 

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville holds Mass Saturdays at 6 p.m., and Sunday’s at 10 a.m.

St. Mary Catholic Church 

St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger holds Mass on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sunday’s at 8 a.m.

Fayetteville Brethren 

Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9 to 9:45 a.m.
