Mass Honored for 65 Years of Masonic Service
Ruben Maas was celebrated Sunday at Jefferson Place in La Grange for achieving the personal Masonic milestone of 65 years of continuous service. Ruben received his Entered Apprentice degree in the Spring of 1959 and was raised as a Master Mason just three months later. Brother Maas served at Worshipful Master in 1966 at Lafayette #34. He served many local Lodges in various offices appointed and elected and was Tyler for 25 years ending in 2019 at Lafayette #34. He was appointed as Tyler Emeritus in 2019 in recognition of his long and decorated Masonic service. With members of seven local Lodges present and 40 family, friends and Masons in attendance it was a joyous and heartfelt event. The New Life Methodist Church spoke and recognized Ruben’s dedicated service and his firm grounding in his faith and support of the Church. Cake and fellowship was enjoyed in abundance.
