Man Kicked by Horse in Winedale

A young man in the Winedale area suffered a serious injury when a horse kicked him in the head on Sunday, June 16.

First responders got the call around 8 p.m. The incident happened on private property off FM 2714 in the Winedale area. Fayette County EMS responded along with deputies from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. EMS Director Josh Vandever said the man was in his late 20s.

A Washington County EMS helicopter flew the man to Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin. Vandever said the man was in serious but stable condition.
